EMR to introduce reduced Inter City service from Monday 20th July

222103 is in service today, first time I've seen it in a long while, currently on NOT-STP jobs

Class 810 East Midlands Railway catering offer

That's not correct, it's a temperature control issue that's needing rectification, caused by O/H Neutral Section and Power changeover issues

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Ran perfectly for me last night. Didn't miss a beat

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Change over at Corby on Up trains, and near Geddington on Down trains

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Standard class end took the damage in the unfortunate incident, this is first class end, but it's probably had a good clean as part of its recuperating

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Because when they cross at Kettering it almost always delays the express, particularly because the signalling changes from 4 aspect to 3 aspect at Wellingborough so they gave to slow as the signals are far apart and once passed a single yellow the next is red

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Not before time, should have been like that from day 1

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

It ran exceptionally well yesterday on 1F25, in fact we arrived in Leicester 2 mins early, helped by a RT Class 360 put over at Wellingborough North, which we passed at Kettering before it had even opened its doors. When I left it at Derby it arrived early, not sure what happened later in the...

Engineering work at Dore might be a reason?

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

The changeover point going towards London is just south of Kilby Bridge junction and when going north is between Kibworth and Great Glen

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

I don't think currently that there are sufficient drivers trained to provide a consistent service, it's starting to ramp up now, until now there's been a small dedicated group at Derby covering all diagrams for each unit, but for every extra unit added it needs more trained drivers at all depots

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway: should they have been 7 cars, and could capacity be improved?

EMR are carrying Avanti passengers diverted off their route. It's been pretty much wedged on all daytime Sheffield/London services since last Saturday, as I have witnessed

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Being on the platform at the time the change took place and witnessing the inconvenienced passengers (as the booked driver for the 222), it would have been simpler to make the change at Sheffield rather than part journey (unless the replacement was ready on platform which it wasn't). I'm hearing...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Was very pointless, it delayed a train full of passengers at Derby, as 006 was late to the platform and with all the end change procedures it was an age before the doors opened, and it left 20 mins late. Would have made more sense to have done the change at the start of the next journey at...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Looks like two planned in service today, 010 is already in London after working 0549 NOT-STP and 006 is showing as working 5Z32 XEP-STP to form 1132 to Sheffield

Class 810 on the Midland Mainline: are the timetables too tight, or should the trains have been of a higher spec?

Possibly because XC don't have to negotiate the 60 PSR and crossover at St Mary's Junction either way and as such have a cleaner run in/out of Derby

East Midlands Railway livery and station branding

Yes it is, drove it the other day, 017 is currently in the shed being converted to the interim livery
