The cost of living agenda - how should the railway contribute ?

Indeed. And that is not a vast amount but it is an amount which could make a material difference to performance. I'd still prefer to pay tax to make up any shortfall, but we are where we are.

Does anyone know why Julie Berry's announcements are being phased out?

Thanks. I love it when public figures post unhinged stuff. Try reading all of the deranged stuff in her work voice like you're on a Southern 377.

    Day-Flex Single tickets

Understood, so this is working off a daily quota and not a per train one?

    Day-Flex Single tickets

I'd hope so. I suppose we will have to see how these fares are advertised.

GTR FRAUD INVESTIGATION - Suspected Evasion

Have you or have you not attempted to raise funds as suggested upthread? A credit card or small bank loan will solve this issue for you. Most people can get the former.

    Invalid rail card

Do you have any sort of railcard at all? How old are you?

I wasn't aware of these - can you share some examples?

GTR FRAUD INVESTIGATION - Suspected Evasion

It depends if the historic offences are taken into consideration. But either way the OP runs the risk of then also being sued in the county court for the rest.

The cost of living agenda - how should the railway contribute ?

Well no, it was a figure of speech. The point is you can't laud low fares in Germany without acknowledging the system there needs money - and a lot of it - in order to get back to where it was. At the moment it looks like a 20 year job. Like you, I'd prefer to pay more tax to make the railway...

The cost of living agenda - how should the railway contribute ?

Indeed. There's no point going anywhere for a quid if you can't actually get there because the trains are up the spout. Germany's network is in a parlour state to the point it has become an international embarrassment.

Wrong Ticket Sold on board Greater Anglia train?

It isn't a legal defence against a Bylaw allegation. Though the NRCoT are typically unclear I will give you, because it does not give this reason as an exception to civil penalties (new ticket or PF etc) under the same contract. Either way, the discussion is academic because that ticket would...

    TfL wheelchair priority

Indeed. They do have to put a sincere effort into the endeavour. There is no guarantee they will be successful though, agreed. They don't even need to do this in my view. The driver simply needs to ask, firmly, more than once reminding the occupants they are in a priority space. If they aren't...

    Greater Anglia fraud email investigation

No, it sounds like you asked AI which is the equivalent of sending a toddler to do Google searches for you and tell you what they found. That is not the situation at all. Train comapnies can and do recover losses on behalf of others. That's entirely normal given very many fares are actually...

    TfL wheelchair priority

Lawfully the driver has to do.more than make a casual request. Obviously no driver is going to forcibly remove a buggy and parent even if it would be lawful to do so. But they have to do more than just ask.

Sign language on train route information displays (and station departure boards)

Peanuts. A single wheelchair user on a single journey to or from an inaccessible station may rack up a railway taxi bill of the same.

    Delay repay is it destructive?

Not a fair comparison; not non-delivery but rather an imperfect service - regardless of fault. Very many industries give compensation for imperfect services delivered in the form of things other than money, quite often by the use of voucher codes. Delay repay worked fine when it was just...
