Tyne & Wear Metro .. Most Run-down Station

Four Lane Ends as a whole is in need of attention, not just the Metro platforms. There's the empty retail units, the broken toilets which haven't been fixed for years, the thing in the car park stairwell that's been continuously beeping for years on end, the hall with the ticket machines that...

Metrocar updates and withdrawals - Tyne & Wear Metro

I only lasted a couple of stops in the heat (and the smell!). I will miss them, but they've certainly had their day. The air cooling in the 555s makes such a huge difference.

Metrocar updates and withdrawals - Tyne & Wear Metro

I got on it earlier and the heating was stuck on! I only lasted a couple of stops before bailing, I certainly won't miss that.

222 contract for Scotrail: updates (not speculation)

There's a bit of a difference between the best use of limited capacity on publicly-funded transport and deciding which restaurant to choose to eat at, which would be readily apparent with about three minutes of concentrated thought.

Drivers stuck in a queue on a level crossing

You still need drivers to actually pay attention to what's in front of them. Callerton Parkway crossing on the Metro has lights, sirens, rumble strips, and plenty of signage, and you still get idiots ignoring all of it and getting hit by trains on a depressingly regular basis.

Great British Railways livery: Alternative suggestions/variations

I put together a few variations (by hand with Pixelmator! No AI rubbish used) with the yellow nose panel changed to match the rest of the livery, and it looks far, far better with the dark blue or Hull Trains-style black, much like the Amtrak locomotive on the last page.

Great British Railways: Station identity and livery unveiling (09/12/25)

I don't care for putting flags on everything but taking the design as it is, it's a little bit like the (much better colours) Transpennine Express livery. The front should be red or white though.

Does it really cost £2M to install safety measures at a pedestrian rail track crossing?

Voice calls aren't the main issue any more, it's visual content like Facetime calls or flicking through Tiktok and Instagram videos. It's the main thing just about everyone does on their devices now, and a visually distracted car driver is a much greater danger to themselves and others than a...
