The armrests on the 170s that are being refurbished were always plastic. Only 401-424 have material on them.

No only first class sleeper holders can use the first class lounge. standard class can use the customer lounge at euston which is beside the left luggage office. HOWEVER if you are an advance customer *scotrail loyalty club* you can use any of scotrails lounges even if on a standard ticket.
