Not a driver or ever would want to be, but I’d definitely stick to the MOM role rather than driving. Going from having the somewhat freedom and perks of being a MOM, into a cab being told what to do by control and a signallers, when you more than likely would know more than them through your...
If it’s classed a disability then there would have to be reasonable adjustments via OH.
I believe it depends on how flexible your route and management are, but as a rule of thumb, you are extremely unlikely to get it granted.
NR would likely deem it’s not reasonable to have to cover your night...
I’ve been informed that an investigation has found the fire was started due to vandalism, someone threw a disposable BBQ over the fence from the canal.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyzqr2x445o
It was either that or nothing unfortunately.
The fire damaged and destroyed pretty much everything you can imagine, leading to having no control.
A larger isolation section was needed to apply earthing straps to allow emergency services access.
Finally some speculation from someone with actual and logical knowledge.
Foxhall is indeed feeding all the way to Paddington, hence the drivers notice to GWR drivers to drive in diesel to reduce the load on the feed. One tripping would take out everything from Paddington to Didcot.
Grade 9 links vs grade 9 panels/workstations is a whole another conversation!
Which leads me on to my next point…
Ironically, the link in which Slough sits on, one of the workstations has been identified as being above a grade 9 along with 2 other WS adjacent to them on another link.
6...
Agreed on that.
After a period of time you will learn where key signals are such as junctions and ones commonly used for line blockages just through repetition. After that, you’ll be able to have a good educated guess at roughly where a specific signal is on the panel/workstation if you don’t...
Yes.
The LOM is the same as they are the local manager. People are free to leave and move around the business as they wish, so advertising their jobs when they move on is normal. If theres lots of vacancies it can mean a few things about the workplace..

What is it you want to...
If you’re spare, you would be classed as working, so would be entitled to choose either HROP/LROP.
If you’re booked off, you’re only entitled to flat rate as you’re having the day off on the company, but still being paid for it. If you’re RD and not doing overtime, you get LROP I believe...
I can’t imagine that’s going to be going on much longer with NR looking to cut costs!
What grade do you get paid on IST and what would they learn..? AB/TCB/IECC?
Grade 7 roster with 8hr Sundays on the inner is 52k without any OT.
With OT, I know a few guys at my place who’ve done well over 100, if not 110 as 7s. But, they’re always at work..
Basingstoke ROC has a 99% chance of NOT being a 12 hour roster as NR are trying to get rid of them, so I’d be putting money on it being an 8 hour.
Don’t think Basing is going to be 12hours if I’m honest!
Hahah I’m sure it’s not that bad with the short straw :p
Feltham and Woking both 8 hour rosters.
Feltham is a grade 7, however moving to Basingstoke starting 2021. You’re more likely to get a job at Feltham than Woking. Will take around 1 year off the street to pass out completely should you be successful. Also has a SSM at the location who do...
