I'll have to say that I sometimes forget how grotty Southeastern trains are until I travel on say a SWT service - then realise how shameful most of them are. Especially the 465s.

Surely by "flashing the badge" to get out of paying for a ticket is a sign of corruption? What next? Protection money on the quiet coach?

The Railjet in Austria doesn't seem to suffer with this. Now that's a comfortable journey.

To be quite honest, spending up to £200 to sleep in a broom cupboard is not my idea of fun. Especially when these broom cupboards have no end of technical problems at times.

I nominate Strood and the old Rochester station as two of the coldest experiences I've had waiting for a train in winter. I'm sure the northerners will now pile in to tell me that it's positively balmy down here in comparison :-)

It would have been moving footage if it didn't have that bloody awful music. Seriously, if the train served Ebbsfleet and/or Ashford I'd be well up for using it - as long as the fares are not too extravagant.
