I remember units being hauled by class 33s from Eastleigh going via Andover in the 80s. I have also read in books that when the line north of Winchester was closed they used to go via Alton on what is now The watercress line. In very recent times XC services have gone via Andover from Southampton.
Very sad news. L622TDY was one of the B10Ms I used to fuel and shunt at Portsmouth Farlington depot and I remember when she was brand new. I have the original regeneration plates at home to her sister L621 TDY when she was re-registered 421 DCD. Does anyone know which other king Alfred buses...

Hant & Dorset Bristol VR
3394 YEL1T and...

The station building and parts of the platform at Tisted also remain. Does anyone know if the platform at Bentworth and Lasham on the old Basingstoke to Alton line still remain?

I used to work on the platform at Guildford. When a slammer was in said platform there was a dispatcher on platforms 6 and 7. When the train was ready to depart the dispatcher on platform 6 would call the dispatcher on platform 7 on the radio and ask if it was all clear platform 7 side. Once...
I have the Somerset and Dorset then and now book by Mac Hawkins and also his LSWR west country then and now book. The lengths he went to capture a near as possible shots in the same location are amazing. One shot of a train at Evercreech Junction for example was taken from the footbridge Macs...
