I would hope so, but I don’t think there’s anything in the wording which positively mentions that. As it stands, you are still required to travel through the split point when there is disruption, which is a major disadvantage of split tickets (although in practice many staff will turn a blind eye).

I’m not talking about delay repay. I’m talking about where using an alternative operator means using a different route which avoids the split point.

Sounds like they’re fishing. Move on and don’t let it worry you. Even the worst case scenario is unlikely to be life changing, but that worst case scenario is probably only going to happen if you engage further voluntarily.
