Thank you to everyone for your kind words.
My line manager will be made aware of my situation on Monday as I'm due in for a welfare/update meeting. Currently off due to stress. So they're aware of my separation at work.
Thank you all again. I will get through this one way or another.
Cheers.
Hi, I'm after some advice, I'm currently a driver for a TOC. I have recently gone through a very messy separation (financially) from my wife & kids and as a result i'm now suffering with financial difficulties.
I've sought advice from the CAB and they've raised two possible options.
First...
Yes, I was in the DTM's office yesterday. I did end up with a shirt and tie attire though. :D
Thank you, it was a pleasure meeting the team I'll be working with.
Well, I start on the course tomorrow in Leeds.
I've ironed my shorts and t-shirt. Cleaned my flip-flops and bleached my favourite white knee socks. All ready to begin the course. Starting to feel a little anxious but at the same time, looking forward to upcoming challenges and training.
If you use the search function, there is a medical guide specifying the limits for the hearing test.
I however failed my hearing medical by -5db in my right ear in the 2k range. I've now passed the medical with hearing aid use and start in July. So if it's a minor fail, then the toc may allow...
Thanks for that. You wouldn't happen to know the pay dates at all do you?
Just so I can work out whether it's 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks from when I start that i'd be paid and then I can see what I can work out.
Cheers.
Hi,
Does anyone know the pay cycle and dates please?
I'm going from weekly to monthly/ 4 weekly / or last working day of the month pay I presume.
I'm just trying to work out what I need to put to one side to cover my bills etc for the time being, until the railway pay comes into...
I'm down for the June course now as didn't make it in time for the March course.
Heard the courses will most likely run every 6 - 8 weeks instead of once a month from June.
Couldn't you move to an area where you are within the commutable timescale that has a couple of TOC's operating from and then apply? Worst case scenario is you may have to move again in a few years if you're unsuccessful? Or maybe not if you have another suitable role in the time being.......
Be patient people.
My email for a different Northern depot stated I'd hear within 2 - 4 weeks.
I finally got my DMI email FOUR months after applying. I had already had my Psychometric assessments with another TOC that I had previously applied for.
I got on with my day to day life and forgot...
As far as I'm aware, the next training course in Leeds is in June sometime. That is what I was told by HR. I wasn't given any info, other than to sit tight and await my next email.
No, I'm not on the 13th March course either. Was hoping to be though. Think it will be June now fo the next course.
I applied October 2016. I had my interview early this year but had already completed the psychometric assessments over 2 years ago.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
