Verbal abuse is calling people names and insulting them, questioning their parentage, abusing their race. Merely shouting at them is not.

Please do not mis-quote me to suit your apparent attempted bullying of me. I repeat, I have not anywhere...
You see, there you go again. Nowhere in any of my posts - I've just gone carefully backwards and carefully read them all - have I said or suggested that it is acceptable to shout at staff. It simply isn't but people do it because they get frustrated and front line service industry staff must...
I do wish that you would learn to read and understand what is typed. The point that I'm attempting to make is that if a person is in a customer facing job then they must be expected to deal with all forms of life and attempt to understand why people get upset when they are let down by a supposed...
Well, I could counter that by suggesting that there's one in every company and you...........
"having a go back" means that the discussion is already lost and it's now a slanging match.
The staff ARE only as good as the information (and training) supplied. If staff are getting harassed by...
He's the company representative, he's the one that gets the flack. That's how it works.

The customers is not always right but you have to understand the frustration of being mucked about.
Whereas you would have been happy to turn up at a station where the train terminated to find the advertised onwards connection/travel had gone and then had to hang around for a replacement. What an undemanding person you are. Little wonder that so many people in this country in a service...
Believe me friend, every train being on time and immaculate is what some of us passengers - I'm so glad that I'm not a regular commuter now - can only dream about.
Available seats
Clean trains
Serviceable toilets
Helpful and informative staff
Trains running as booked - including connections...
I've just got back from a trip to London. The train there was cancelled due to "signalling problems". That's a signalling problem at least once every day for the last four weeks. We passengers were sent to Dorking to catch a train to London. Those stairs at Dorking are no joke and it's a good...
As someone who uses East Croydon station a lot I can offer you this reply.
East Croydon is a very busy station with an almost continuous flow of passengers coming down the slope from the main entrance to platforms 1/2.
When alighting off a train at platform 1/2 rather than fight against the...
Wouldn't it be easier just to install a button marked, "release doors" in the driving cab? It seems to me that there's a little too much to go wrong with all this GPS technology.
I always get puzzled when I travel to Leeds to see my cousin. Someone announcing themselves as, "your Guard" (I never know why, they're the train's Guard not mine) and announces all the stations that the train is going to stop at. A little while later someone called the "Crew Leader" then makes...
Of course they are clean at Reading. All of the lines through the station have only recently - in real terms - been laid. Will "they" ever peel off the blue protective plastic film off all that stainless steel one day or has no-one realised yet I wonder?
People can spin it as much as they like. If Virgin are running it - or involved in running it - the fares will rise and the availability of cheap(er) tickets will fall.
Guaranteed.
None taken. I'm a 64 year old retired company secretary. I only arrived here in a quest for a cheap ticket request to get my son from Penzance to Redhill - although I actually live in Earlswood.
Ah, I see. It's all to do with that quaint noise that the Welsh call a language. I'm never quite sure whether the person communicating has a lisping cough or is speaking.:D
I would imagine that the best thing to do is to do nothing. If there's a crash on the railway the professionals employed by the railway are trained how to deal with it, who to call and know exactly how to describe the location where they are. I was told this by a Guard on a train some years ago...
