Potential solutions for earth shifting after dry weather?

But this doesn't apply to businesses if its for commercial or essential services. Maintaining and running a railway is an essential service

    Kent & East Sussex Railway

Sorry, I didn't have time to note all the coaches behind the Class 14. I've yet to see the Thumper; never seen it in the sidings at Rolvenden (unless it's in the covered shed) but as the law of sod goes, I believe it was out last Friday... The coaches might be listed under a stocklist on the...

Had a look in today to see 20.087 and D9504 in operation along with A1X Terrier "Knowle" hosting £10 "Drive an engine rides". I believe John Scott-Morgan was also there signing his new book

How should Network Rail go about returning personal items after the Lewes incident?

Sadly we live in a blame culture. The issue might not have been caused by the railway; we'll have to wait for the official RAIB report for that.

    Azuma (my first time)

You should have been given the option of a seating plan when you booked your ticket and seats - no? I rarely accept the default-allocated seats, I look at the seat plan and see what's available to my liking (and my wife)

    Southeastern metro fleet replacement/improvement

Fair enough. I've no idea what a C4/C6 overhaul is nowadays; this may have changed from BR days. So does this mean, a unit has its "un-reconditioned" bogies and running gear sent to Crewe and waits for a reconditioned set to return before being returned to traffic?

How should Network Rail go about returning personal items after the Lewes incident?

But their location might not be known. With the carriage(s) being turned on their side, the force/impact may have thrown the keys (and other belongings) anywhere inside the carriage or even outside the carriage and be lost in the embankment/surrounding undergrowth etc. It is even possible that...

    Southeastern metro fleet replacement/improvement

If Networkers go for C4 overhauls, can we see one in GBR livery?

How should Network Rail go about returning personal items after the Lewes incident?

Maybe it's me but I was brought up always to plan for uneventialities. Keys, passports and laptops can be replaced. Data should always be backed up in the event of a laptop being lost or stolen. To the OP: why weren't your keys in your pocket? They could be anywhere in the train or lost...

How should Network Rail go about returning personal items after the Lewes incident?

A valuable lesson to be learnt here by this student. Moaning to the media isn't going to help
