I’m sadly very familiar with the later ‘Amshack’ stations, though in recent years there have been some notable improvements such as the new Rochester NY building (though take a look at the original one and weep at what was lost).

From experience the crew of the up lunchtime train from Devon won't ever extend it into the adjoining coach, I've been turned away on multiple occasions.
Trains seem to be operating relatively normally today albeit with some delays due to speed restrictions - I don't know whether that is on the reopened line or elsewhere.
I've been trying to plan a trip to Zagreb using the sleeper from Stuttgart but neither the trainline or OBB seems to be able to sell me a ticket - does anyone know what's going on with it?
You may well be right but...the waiting area in DC is definitely not in the nice bit! It's just the deep contrast that seems odd to me. Even an airbridge is well kept, its not exposed concrete, puddles and so on.
Returning to the original topic, I was just posting pics from my trip online and these neatly illustrate my point.
I find it hard to imagine that the platforms were this dismal originally when so much money was evidently spent on the rest of Washington DC’s Union station.
