Well, well, well after applying for the Edinburgh/Bathgate trainee train drivers position away back on 9th July I have received an email this afternoon (yes on a Sunday) inviting me to assessment centre on 7th February.
Unfortunately I’m away on a family holiday, I’ll reply to ask if they can...
That shows no respect to any other candidates, either external or internal or even for your employer. Perhaps your previous applications were stronger, but you think you know best. Your post shows an arrogance that has probably came across on your application and you now find yourself in a...
Has anyone who has only applied for Edinburgh/Bathgate with the closing date if 12/07 heard anything or are we all still under consideration?
Also anyone on here who already has a pass with The psychometrics, does ScotRail do them again or accept a previous result?
I suggest logging into your Abellio account, it will say there if your application is under consideration or if you've been unsuccessful.
Fingers crossed for there being no bad news 8-)
Any word on this (these) vacancy's? My application is still showing as current and under consideration but haven't heard anything other than an application received email.
I believe the depot is meant to be fully operational by the end of the year so would have thought it would have been a...
From memory, as its almost 3 years ago, there were 6 questions on the MMI and I'm sure you'll find them all if you look back on this thread. The one piece of advice i would give is be very specific and don't try to BS the interviewer, they do ask in great detail.
One of the questions was "Tell...
It's no different to other large organisations e.g. Police, Fire, Forces etc having targeted recruitment, those targeted aren't just offered jobs - it's about getting people to apply who wouldn't normally. Once their application is in it's a level playing field for all.
I am of the understanding that regardless of assessments passed any new application MAY involve you sitting the psychometrics again as no companies are obligated to accept your current results. Although I sincerely hope VTEC do accept our previous results.
I think it is commonplace for most...
I took it to mean that the first 2 (or 3 if you don't live close enough) questions would be an introductory paragraph and 2 new paragraphs starting "I would like to work for Virgin Trains East Coast because.........." and "I would like to be a train driver because......" had a very strict word...
But not a huge presence on the main stream media, it isn't even on their own normal careers page.
Unlike the last time ScotRail advertised it was in all the papers and TV news programmes resulting in more than 22k applications. Hopefully we'll all keep this secret for ourselves
I'm well aware that everything you say and do will be monitored on the assessment day, (if we get there), albeit in a friendly and informal manner. I don't think the MMI will happen that day as it is a part of the stage 2 psychometric assessment test and takes around 60-90 minutes for each...
Well, that's my letter and CV sent off, I do find it quite bizarre that there isn't an application form as such and no mention of a formal interview in the process.

Hi folks - just wondering how many people have active applications for signaller positions at the moment and where you are in the process?
I'm external and have 1 application under consideration for grade 4 signaller at Tweedmouth.
Hopefully we can help each other along
