37668 was certified to work on the Cambrian under ERTMS level 2 conditions a while back I don't think it's coming down this week. This is 669 at Welshpool last night, with 97304 for company:

Add to that Forden (new road built at colossal cost - "money no object" or so I was told regarding that one), and the newish road at Penarth, Newtown. It appears there's a very big pile of cash available to close crossings and NR are quite delighted to spend it.
Would driver access to live signalling maps such as http://www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/cambrian help? But I suppose that would depend on track circuits and other signalling systems working normally.

I read elsewhere - can't remember at the moment - that NR found out on inspecting the central pier that when constructed ~150 years ago that it was never anchored to the river bed. It was just resting on it courtesy of gravity.
