If you are who I am thinking of, then yes.
I'm so sorry to hear you didn't make it! I know it's no consolation, but you passed the difficult bits! So they are valid for 5 years.
I was successful, and start training in August.
I wish you all the best with future applications
Hi Marcus
I'm not Police, but Ambo. But, like you, I am just over 10 years in to my Emergency Service career.
I am starting my trainee position in about 4 weeks, it's exciting but daunting.
I'm hoping I've made the right choice, which, I'm sure I have. After hearing about the hours etc...
I had my DMI earlier this year, and I agree with what was said above, It felt like the managers wanted to get to know you.
GWR seem to do the DMI last (it appears some TOCs this is done early on) and by this point, you have passed everything to get to this stage. They aren't there to fail you...
Video interview
You aren't actually being interviewed by a real person. It will give you a question on the screen, you have 2 mins to read and then it will automatically record you for 5 mins (I'm sure that's the timings I had).
It isn't questions about, "what do you know about GWR", it's...
Maybe... Although I read it as more of a careers fair type thing. Speaking with drivers etc about how they feel about the role and training.
Not sure you will gain much more insight into much else. But could be wrong!
As someone who's in the same position as the OP, this has been a fantastic read and a great question asked :)
Look forward to my new career on the railways
Congratulations!
I have recently gone through the process with GWR and have a start date (exciting). I have to say, my DMI didn't ask about company/routes/traction etc.
But can't say that will be for every depot
Thanks all
Yes that is what I have. It comes out before Tax/NI which is where the "saving" happens.
I have to say that so far I'm quite lucky and happy with my lease. Had no issues so far with any tax owed etc. I got a brand new Audi E-tron (which at time came with the home charger) and pay...
I currently have a car on a lease scheme through my current employer, which by luck, comes to an end this July.
I am awaiting to start within the railways with a TOC, so not looking to restart a new contract with current lease as if a position came up quickly, then I would have to pay an out...
Congratulations. I not long did MMI with GWR and passed.
I'll be honest, you've most prob done better then you think you did. They are there to probe so if you answered the questions, then you should be fine :)
