Can i ask where you've heard this? I'd be VERY surprised if the training was at Ashford or Orpington when i'm fairly confident that we will not be signing routes around there... pretty sure it would just be with Gillingham drivers? As for the Selhurst rumour... i have it from a good source...

Me too. Its just Micky was saying how long it would be with traffic so thought i'd tell him since i've done it for the last few years lol

Because Selhurst is practically a 24 hour depot. Our earliest start time is 03.33 and latest finish is 02.03 so i've had no choice but to drive for the past 4 years lol. Takes about an hour and a half by train. Into Victoria and back out.

Can tell you from experience that it is a bugger to get too. I've been a guard there for the past 4 years and live in Chatham so i really hope this is not true lol.

Dont suppose anyone has found out which routes Gillingham will be doing? And what traction? Im guessing most of the training will be done with southeastern drivers?

Thameslink have a higher pass criteria for some reason. Not sure why but they do. Had the same thing happen to a few people back when i did my assessment too.

I had my interview on the 19th July and heard back after a week and a bit. Had my medical just over 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear from that. Hoping i hear soon. As they say... No news is good news!

Hi mate. You'll need to be at least 21 to actually be a train driver but may be able to train beforehand. Peoples opinions vary but if i were you, i'd try and get my foot in the door and get a position with the company you want to be a driver for. Maybe a platform job or something? I did this...

Mine all happened pretty quick mate. Had my medical last week. I'd already done the assessments before with southeastern so only had to go back and do 1 test which was the fault finding. From applying up to now, its all been fairly quick with only about a week or a little bit more in between...
