What a deceitful promotion! I too tried various Advance fares via their special link without a Railcard (ie 100%), with a non-Senior railcard (ie c34% off), and with Senior ie c45% off and NOT 50% at all!
Though having been on the end of their pathetic Delay Repay performance I wasn't...
I've had no problem buying PlusBus tickets with Network Card discount - ie "NSE" discount - when buying a PlusBus to supplement a ticket I already held.
That's at various stations across the country (eg Crewe, Birmingham International, Montrose) though in each case the ticket clerk remarked...
For looking for the cheapest Advance fares from St Neots to York it's best to use the Virgin Trains East Coast (VTEC) website at:
http://tickets.virgintrainseastcoast.com/ec/en/JourneyPlanning/MixingDeck
ie from £16.15 each way when you travel only on the specific pre-booked timed train(s) =...
Got the details of the Virgin Trains East Coast sale from a link on the Nectar App where apparently Nectar card holders get in a day ahead of others!
per:
http://www.virgintrainseastcoast.com/yeahbaby
£10 London - Leeds/York (£25 1st)
£15 London - Newcastle (£35 1st)
£20 London -...
It's actually even better - the "Club 50 Flat Fare Return" @ £10 is a price-capped Return fare between two stations in Scotland (via ScotRail only, though excludes Lockerbie), ie out (tickets available to 30/9) and back within a month, without the Advance restrictions - though some peak-hour...
Working for me just before I typed this today 31/1 17:00 on:
http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/club55/
ie just filling in left margin say Birmingham International to Aberystwyth on 1/2 out in morning back in afternoon came up with the Club55 fares.
Maybe double-check you are complying...
Fare wise just as a bus/coach passenger without any rail ticket/card:
The Stagecoach East #99 bus/coach service hourly from Luton Airport via Luton Station [not Luton Airport Parkway] to Milton Keynes Central Station (and vice versa) currently charges on the bus/coach £6.30 cash for a single...
Just a reminder that your balance of LOYALTY POINTS on RedSpottedHanky purchases will be expiring WITHOUT WARNING at close of 31st December and that you need to log-in and redeem them before - eg converting at rate of 1 point = 1p eVoucher.
T&C: "All points and e-vouchers created from loyalty...
Thanks to ModernRailways' posting a few days back - I immediately managed via the o2 Priority Moments website as described by ModernRailways to start a claim for a o2 Priority code to claim £10 East Coast eVoucher, and today 'n' days later, I finally worked out where I could access and use it...
CLUB 55 keeps expanding...

Since Southern added their DaySave ticket into their regular online booking system so they became available for Ticket On Demand via booking at
http://www.southernrailway.com/tickets-and-fares/ticket-types/daysave/
...Southern's site has always said:
"Free collection of your DaySave ticket...
When looking don't overlook the TransPennine Express "January Sale" on Advances
ie buy in Jan with 25% off for journeys until March.
could be cost effective for Manchester to Kendal (tho limited availability of course)
http://www.tpexpress.co.uk/tickets-offers/offers/january-sale/
Well probably depends on the weather - if pouring down you'll probably be grateful for the distraction up the Vale! And would depend whether you had any interest in whatever exhibitions are on the National Library.
If doing the railway which as you've noticed would take 3 hours out of your...
Realise that Arriva Trains Wales published timetables are only valid to 17 May 14, and I am not sure when Virgin's run until - for some reason they say from date but not to date on their site, I would suspect to 17 May too, as are eg London Midlands on the West Coast line! So there MAY be some...
I've done a couple of day-trips to Aberystwyth from Milton Keynes.
The Arriva Wales trains typically start out every 2 hours at Birmingham International then New St & Wolverhampton before on to Shrewsbury, then "reversing" all the way to Aberysytwyth.
Unless this year's summer timetable...
If using the hourly Southern Services (ie via Kensington Olympia) on Friday down to Clapham Junction or East Croydon and then beyond ....
... if no cheap advances are available or are unsuitable
... don't overlook their DaySave and All Network Downlander day tickets for on all Southern...
FYI: East Coast have extended booking for the 'Sale' to Fri 10/1, so hopefully you can still bag a Fri 28/3 £10 EC Flat Fare down on Fri (still some when I looked today 9/1) and at the same time have opportunity to be sure you can get an Advance back on Sun 30/3 at price you're happy with -...
