Regarding preserved railways I assume that locos, rolling stock and infrastructure would come under the charity? What sort of assets would the PLC have? Shop and catering stock? Loco fuel? Anything else?

I was speaking to the driver of the assisting 47 when it arrived at Eastleigh who stated NR would not allow the train into Poole as too long. I did not push for more info as they seemed not happy, but wonder if the length of the consist including the additional 47 was not taken into account at...

Hi access to platforms is for ticket holders (and staff) only after they have passed through security.
There are quite good views of the platforms from the public concourse, not probably not that suitable for spotting and you can only see one end of the Eurostar’s.
I haven’t got much to add regarding what to wear, apart from shirt and tie, no jeans or trainers.
However one tip I have heard in the past. Pop to the toilet before you go in. Not to actually use the toilet, but have a look in the mirror to check for overall look ie tie straight, hair tidy

I have seen various employment contracts in my time which although they included a job spec and"normal" place of work, they have also had the "magic" words "you may be required to carry out other duties at any of the companies locations as required by the business" !
Or perhaps the islands power demands, excluding the railway, have increased, which prevents the line running away "full power".?
How was/is the line's infrastructure supported? Is this by an island based team/s or supported by personnel from the mainland?
I am sure they would have shceked with the driver if ok. but I thought this was useful to the general viewing public for them to understand the impact on the driver and why they cannot continue and explain possible additional delay while a replacement is arranged?
