I'll hesitate over my follow-up question as I'm sure there'll be a thread somewhere on here about the situation regarding staffing holding up the beginning of passenger services on this route. Thanks for the photos.
On my way back from London to Wigan, I spotted a Chiltern Railways unit slowly entering Milton Keynes (or Bletchley) at about 3pm. Not the usual stomping ground for a Chiltern unit. What was happening?
A European haul:
Paris Gare Du Nord
Paris Gare Du Lyon

Schaan-Vaduz (Rail Replacement bus) - Gutted that Nendeln and Forst-Hilti have been bulldozed and track ripped up at the moment due to track replacement. Will return to finish off Liechtenstein...
Both ways I've been bowled by having a stopper in front of a semi-fast service. Is this the normal way of operating on this line or is there something occurring today that my worse-than rudimentary French hasn't picked up on on signage/announcements?
My regards.
A quick question.
The water that comes out of the tap in toilets on trains is labelled not drinkable so it's not from the mains. Where does the water come from then?

Also an honorable mention to The West Highland Line and Mallaig Extension and the major freight routes from...
Good luck! You will be amazed at the sheer variety of landscapes in the UK. For me, seeing the Highlands, Pembrokeshire and Stratford (East London) station for the first time was fascinating. Granted I visited many for the first time by car, I have revisited them all again by train. The buzz...
I live in Makerfield and have canvassed for Labour here recently. I don't care about him being a dad, in the TA or even a plumber. In fact, I dislike him using that to claim he is 'normal'. His views are abhorrent.
His policies, if they are actually his and not his puppet master, are either...
I was stunned by our results in Wigan but then I paused to pick my jaw up off the floor and wasn't surprised.
It is very simple to repeat the mantra and campaign on it - 'Starmer out' and 'Stop the boats' - but I have no idea what Reform will do in Wigan tomorrow and the days after. Fortunately...
I'm planning a Wigan to Bath Spa journey and was intrigued to find that going via Birmingham or via the Marches line returned the same journey time of about 4 hours and a few minutes. Also going via London gave 4 hours and 10 minutes. I was expecting the Marches routing to be a longer journey...
Yes. Many of us locals hope that the recent upgrading of the Whelley Loop trail North of Whelley through Haigh Hall will continue to and cross the viaduct into Standish allowing a spectacular pedestrian route between Standish and Wigan and alternative to walking along the A49.
