Merseyrail potential expansion if 777 battery capacity can be boosted

Interestingly, Steve Rotheram has also posted a map showing where the Merseyrail network will potentially be extended as a result of the battery technology (and also some of the possible new stations for good measure!)

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Think this was missed when it was first published - looks like there is a mock-up of the new Merseyrail trains that's going to go on public display: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/business/first-look-inside-futuristic-new-15031395 Not open to the public yet but seems that it'll be on...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

I see Merseytravel have got a mock-up of the new train which the Liverpool Echo have been to visit and done an article on. Looks very smart - apparently going on display at Lime Street in November to the public. Edited to add the correct link in!

    New station: Maghull North

It's not 50cm closer to his fence - it's 50cm either left or right as he looks at it. So basically, it should, in his opinion, be 50cm over his neighbour's garden rather than totally over his own. But Network Rail and Merseytravel are saying it's in the right place, but the OS maps they...

    New station: Maghull North

Looks like the resident who has the lift tower beyond the bottom of his garden fence is complaining again. This time it's relating to the positioning - apparently it's 50cm out (though looks like Merseytravel and Network Rail dispute this by the quote in the article, suggesting it's the OS maps...

    Manchester - Liverpool Electrification

Some interesting pictures from the Merseytravel webpage about the Newton-le-Willows development - looks like a pretty extensive bit of engineering going on! https://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/about-us/local-transport-delivery/Pages/Newton-le-Willows.aspx

Maghull North, further upset for residents

If you go back far enough, the view they will have had was of the exercise field for Ashworth Hospital! Before the station construction started I believe it was a grass bank and some trees.

    New station: Maghull North

Looks like good progress has been made during the recent possession of the line to install the platforms - taken from one of Network Rail's twitter feeds:

    New station: Maghull North

There's a new bridge being built with lifts - it will be right in front of the existing bridge. Station building is on the site to the right on the photo above. The plans on the Sefton Council site doesn't show any compulsory purchase orders - I would suspect looking at it, some of the gardens...

    New station: Maghull North

Interesting blog from a local councillor detailing the fact that work has started... https://tonyrobertson.mycouncillor.org.uk/2017/09/18/maghull-poppy-fields-housing-development-and-maghull-north-station/ EDIT - I'll shrink the photos!

    Merseyside: New stations planned

Interesting article on the Wirral Globe site about a potential new station at Town Meadow... you'd think the Rail Minister might know which schemes are eligible for that funding though! Not sure how high this would be on Merseytravel's priority for stations anyway and how ideal the site...

Liverpool Disruption 28 Feb 2017 - RAIB report released 30/11/17

Interesting photo from a different angle on this tweet. Shows a clear lime where the boundary wall starts and how high up the earth appears to have been built: https://twitter.com/LMRailway/status/837060612723249152 (Posting from phone so can't add images myself!)
