Anyone else noticed this? It seems to be more and more common around the West Midlands. A few times this week I've seen someone dive into the toilet at New Street and remain in there until the train reaches Rugeley Trent Valley! Nice, selfish way of getting a qiuet seat to yourself and avoiding...
So, DBS have 20 of these locos on their tender list.
It is hard to believe that these relatively recently built (1989-1993.) and very powerful machines are being disposed of. It seems like yesterday when they entered service.
Will any of them see further service? Or even preservation?
