Hi all. I hope you're ok !
Here's some information on the farewell XC HST railtour...

Hi all, I hope you're ok. Thought I'd start a thread on what we could have instead of the 769's.
On Twitter, somebody said something about GWR ordering 32 new trains.
My guess is, if true, 15 will be for the '769' routes plus a few for the Didcot - Oxford - Banbury's as well as one of the...
Hi all. I hope you're ok!
Why would CrossCountry now allocate a 4-coach Voyager to this service on weekdays when 8 coaches was occasionally busy and 5 coaches overcrowded between May 2022 and this months timetable change?
I know they have a fleet of around 90 trains but surely they can try and...
Hi all. I was thinking - couldn't GWR spare say a 5-car IET and run some Reading - Birmingham New Street diagrams to fill in some of the gaps and take pressure off some of the busy hourly CrossCountry (XC) Manchester and Bournemouth services?
My idea, weekdays at least, is this (RDG = Reading...
There's a similar Chiltern Turbo future thread so I thought it's best to start a new one but continue the discussion.
Chiltern could do with the 175's much more than GWR and are looking for a suitable replacement for the Mark 3's.
They'd be ideal replacements as these have end doors, bigger...
Mod Note: Posts #1 - #18 originally in this thread.
I believe West Midlands Railway said about these topping up the existing fleet (172's) on the Snowhill lines to provide extra space. Good stuff :) !
Hi all. Looks like 'INTERCITY' / LSL are helping out passengers from Crewe to London Euston and from London Euston and Birmingham through to Manchester Piccadilly but via Crewe and Wilmslow.
It leaves Crewe at 14:29 and runs non-stop to London Euston, arriving at 16:12.
It returns at 17:27 but...
Hi all, I hope you're ok.
I'm not sure if there's a thread on this but some of you may be aware of CrossCountry trains running an HST to and from Kidderminster and Bridgnorth on Tuesday 27th September.
I've booked the £35 First Class ticket to and from Kidderminster and Bridgnorth 12:45-15:15...
Hello people. Now I'll probably stick to the Scotrail HST for First Class given the echoes of their GWR careers. However I have to be pleased that LNER help out massively by running 9-car Azumas where possible - nearly 105 of the seats are First Class vs like 30 on the Scotrail HST. Plus with...
Hello everyone. Ever since what April 2018, I've had, downloaded on my Kindle, Trainz driver 2010 engineering edition. Fantastic simulator basically :).
Unless it's the actual PC 2010 one I need to download, is there any way of running quieter electric trains on the downloaded simulator? Don't...
Hello everyone. I understand any ideas, suggestions / speculation regarding replacing the damaged Scotrail HST is to be done via a new thread.
Just a thought, would it not be quicker and probably cheaper for GWR to transfer one of their Castle HST's to Scotrail? If it was up to me, I'd rather...
Hello everyone. I don't think there's a thread on the other new TfW trains which are the Stadler Citylink tram trains and Stadler Flirts.
Here's a link to the virtual tour of the Stadler Flirts incase anyone isn't aware...
Hello everyone. After looking at the HS2 assumptions thread, I downloaded this (link below) and was rather interested in the fact in the appendix (if the right wording) on 48/105 (page 46), the Oxford to Bedford and Bedford to Milton Keynes services are reported to be run by 3-car 185's.
Now...
Hello all. Well you get various reasons for trains being delayed but on XC's JourneyCheck, I found the 15:35 from Bristol Temple Meads to Edinburgh has been delayed at Birmingham New Street and is now 16 minutes late due to a late departure whilst the train was cleaned especially. Today this...
Hello people. I've been meaning for roughly a few days at least to ask advice.
Pathfinder Tours have a charter day trip that I'm jolly hoping to do which is the Cambridgeshire / East Anglia trip.
As I live a short walk away from the reliable Thames Travel X2 service from Abingdon to Didcot...
Hello everyone. I can't see a thread on refurbished EMR Class 222's so I thought I'd start one.
I was looking at interior pictures on flickr of the Meridian trains and found that they're being refurbished as I've seen pictures of the new maroon / purple seats.
Only negative comment is I've...
Hello. It won't be the first time I've done a thread like this. I've not been to Scotland yet but I'd rather have the plans in place ready for 2021 to get booking if that makes sense.
I would have been through Dundee to and from Edinburgh and Aberdeen whilst in Edinburgh hopefully this April...
Hello. I thought I'd create this thread and ask why the UK's least-liked trains have given such reliable service.
The trains I'm talking about are Pacers and Voyagers. I fully appreciate what both types are great at but I know there are many people who don't like them one bit. But I understand...
Good morning. Now I thought I'd create this kind of thread. Basically, I'm quite keen to know how long a diesel train engine can run for with people onboard.
I'm trying to ask this as delicately as possible - the reason is if you're say on a DMU (or in an IET carriage with the engine...
