Sounds like there's another major internet outage happening at the moment.
Metro reports:
Not that long ago, maybe a few years, another Cloud flare outage happened. Seems to be happening a lot lately.
One of the things I kind of miss is the advertising Liveries on class 319s. Such as the Lycamobile and Swiss livery, and obviously the rainbow red class 319.
It seems that ad liveries aren't widely used anymore. I remember seeing some class 158s in some branded livery.
What other "business...
This morning I was at Newhaven harbour for the RHTT and as the 69s approach the station the rails made a shrill noise, not flange squeel but the sound of the rails being incredibly stressed, listen as the train approaches ;
This has happened for as long as I can remember, obviously something...
Coming from Brighton I thought I'd try my usual tactic of getting cheaper rail prices - driving closer to London and then buying a ticket. So today I parked in Guildford in a free parking area and walked to the station.
Bought a return to Waterloo (no travel card, that's £35!) and the off peak...
As the 483 preservation thread is shut, please can I ask if anyone knows the number of the preserved island line 483 at the house of chili / holliers Park isle of wight
It's an antiques market with a red unit parked outside in what looks like fantastic condition
I think with class 73, you only have subclasses 73/0 and 73/1, and 73212/73213 obviously fall under either the /0 or /1 subclass rather than a /2 subclass.
Are there any instances with multiple units where this happens?
Eg 377201 (the original sub class of units with pantographs) is part of...

From the Metro;
It's not clear yet what caused the derailment. Apologies if there is already a thread on this.
Reports that this (1Z29) came into Haywards heath at 60mph and overshooting the platform by about half 90% of the train going by pictures.
The train only reported 5L at keymer junction, so this sounds like a pretty quick turnaround given it was only picking up passengers at Haywards heath for 3...
Hi
Once again I find myself replacing a bunch of traction tyres on old Hornby Hst (ring field motor). Over time, oil from lubrication seeps from the gears on to either track and into the tyres or directly onto the tyres themselves.
Making slip and lack of traction.
Come to think of it the...
I went to London the other day, parked at Richmond (big car park near Twickenham bridge), tapped on the gate line with my card NFC and tapped out at my destination, Strawberry Hill.
Few hours later I depart strawberry hill back to Richmond with a break at Twickenham. So I tap out and in at...
Hi
Does anyone have any recommendations for locations in northern France ideally no more than 50 miles from Calais, ideally for loco hauled and freight?
Thinking of a possible quick day trip considering Eurotunnel is only £60 each way. Ideally I don't want to be in too urbanised areas due to...
Last few weeks I've been coming home from work to see dog poo on the border between the pavement and my front garden. There's no fence it's just the door in front of the pavement.
It's obviously the same dog. Semi detached house with no other houses within 100m and big grassy field out front...
I have seen some gen around that 20118 and 132 are out on a test run with the Brighton Belle unit.
Subsequently I can't find the Brighton belle restoration website that was documenting the work on the train.
Would be good to get some up to date shots if anyone sees it today on its run to...
Moderator note: split from
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/new-station-for-okehampton.264118/page-2#post-7080013
Guessing there won't be a through platform or run around loop here. I know there were plans for a bay, was there any ever idea of holding a down train to Okehampton at...
A few train workings have been of interest lately, showing operator PX (EuroPhoenix).
Previous these have been run as rail operations group.
Does anyone know the plans for EuroPhoenix going forward? So far the workings appear to be moving wagons etc between locations.
Can we expect to see...
Having (very) briefly read this topic:
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/steam-engines-powered-by-battery.266473/#post-6745463topic
and saw the suggestions of batteries on steam locos being in the UK being dismissed, I pondered the question :
With tornado now having a footplate computer...

Apologies if already mentioned elsewhere.
Has anyone bought a class 442 cab from eBay from this seller Rubyrock2012?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145215317557?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=O4D0amOcR6C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Aqc17zgAQ8e&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
The feedback is 88% but its the only 442 cab online I...
