I'm sure there are cleverer statisticians on this forum than me. Can the increase in fatal train crashes in recent years be considered statically significant? Or tragically unfortunate. Purely from a statistics point of view is the railway less safe in the 2020s than the 2010s or 2000s?

Passing through Barnham station on the train I noticed much of the canopy has been removed from the down platforms. Does anyone know if this is for refurbishment or permanent removal?
Pictures show the frames of the canopy still in place but the roof has been removed
Something I've been trying to work out but can't find any sources for.
The Class 508s were built as 4car units and later reduced to 3cars, they were originally numbered 508/0s and all units became 508/1s (with some then becoming /2 or /3)
My question is when were the units renumbered (0 to 1)...
Penarth (just south of Cardiff/Caerdydd) gets a decent 4tph service SX and Saturdays, but on Sundays just 8 trains the whole day! roughly a 2 hourly service
Does anyone know why Sunday gets such a worse service compared to the rest of the week?
Any more importantly, are there any plans to fix...
I saw a Sheffield Super tram network and saw a driver training run pass though, which had an electronic L plate on the destination board. This is at Meadowhall South so on the tram only part of the network, but that prompted the question, are L plates required on trams when they run on the...

I am trying to workout what the old numbers of the 317s were
I have found this site that says some units had more than one 3173xx number (i.e. 317 722 - 317 322 - 317392) I cannot find any other evidence of the second 317 3xx number. Does anyone know if this information is...
over the last few years a few stations have had their service 'temporarily' removed, seemingly all because of low passenger numbers. I am trying to tick off as many stations as I can, but these 'closures' have prevented me from ticking these ones off. The closures have (at lease to my knowledge)...

Am I too late? Have they all happened now?

And any tips on good places to film it
Thanks

The Class 450/5s were renumbered as /5s when they were made high capacity and first class removed. in 2013 some of these were reverted back to normal capacity and first class reinstated. However a friend of mine went on one a 450/5 over the weekend and there was no first class at all!
