Rail staff travel cards can be used on certain sections of the underground without the need to purchase priv rate tickets (e.g. Bank - Waterloo, Liverpool Street - Stratford, Putney Bridge - Wimbledon). Full details can be found in the ATOC Guide to Travel Facilities found here...
Does anyone know if the entrance via the old Thameslink Station near Caledonian Road is still open? Think they may have closed in when they opened the new ticket hall.

What's the longest non-stop journey that can be made in GB? The longest I can find is Euston - Preston (approx 219 miles) and completed in two hours. Quite a long way if you get on the wrong train! :oops:
But maybe there is a more obscure one that I can't find.
Could someone explain what "Set Down Only" means in operational terms. Sometimes it is shown in the timetable on inter-city routes at penultimate stations on longer journeys, for example at Watford Junction some London bound Virgin services may be shown as set down only.
