Interesting read from the Network Rail Route 20 report
It makes an interesting point, creating a line up to Northwich will mean a direct service from Chester to Manchester Airport without the needs of changing at Crewe and catching the Northern service from there.
Curiously, however, this...
Due to a failed train at Cheadle Hulme today, our service to Oxford Road from Crewe was diverted via Styal and called at Heald Green for "Set down only" to allow passengers to change for the airport.
However, when we arrived at Heald Green, passengers at the platform were able to board the...
Hey guys,
Although I have researched this question myself, I'm still a little confused about how this operation works.

As of the DfT stock changes, Northern will be losing their 323 fleet and those will be cascaded to London Midland to create a uniform fleet...
I've noticed something lately: I can no longer use my Railcard on Weekdaysm whilst Senior Citizens can still use theirs. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for senior citizens getting cheaper fares but why can't us younger travellers with railcards use them? This seems a little ageist to me...:|...
