The works in place around Mossend Yard complete tonight and Newtork Rail X says it will speed trains up into freight.
Does anyone have a note of what has been done and what improvements are actually happening.
Thanks
Sorry if wrong thread but can remember seeing a discussion on speed changes (increases) being moved to happen when the front of a train reaches the board rather than rear clearing.
Has this been implemented or still under review / testing?
Hi
Just a curious question as to why some stations have dispatch staff whilst others along the route are driver / conductor dispatch.
Helensburgh is a key one in Strathclyde and then Central and Queen St.
if all other stations are controlled by train staff, why do they need station dispatch...
With this announcement, I thought timely to start this discussion
Is there any other TOCs announced intentions.
I would imagine only 5 weeks away before full release.

Can’t see a thread for this but there are several points about such as LNER cut backs from Glasgow and Stirling and Lumo extras.
Any summaries ahead of final timetables being released?

Looks like numerous works across the network.
Will the Greenhill works actually improve speed, and remove the slow turnouts or simple renewals??
With the works this week at Newcastle, is it a simple renewal of current infrastructure or will there be new movements and speed increases?
Can usually be delayed waiting for access to the station.
ScotRail have updated their app today abs including m tickets
been a long way behind others but not moved into 21st century.
Not been at a gateline for awhile so must have been loads of upgrades recently
With the decarbonisation agenda, do we expect a big announcement soon on a new fleet to replace the voyagers at CrossCountry.
With Bi-Mode 800s available, it would make sense to have a comparable make up with some 9 cars and 5 cars that split to continue beyond Edinburgh and Bristol, etc.

i see Carlisle station is closed to the north on 25th and 26th May for ‘Station Enhancements’ as the ScotRail poster advises.
What are these ‘enhancements’?
Not sure if this would be possible but in Scotland (not sure if common elsewhere) a multiple EMU has both its Pantographs up when joined.
Could the train not operate with only 1 pantograph when in multiple formation and therefore reduce wear on the train as well as on the overheads?
Surely...
Now that we know who is changing in December, I have started this to its chanbes that we know that are happening.
Scotrail have some big changes coming with the linking of Glasgow and Edinburgh via Cumbernauld and Falkirk.
Not sure what else is planned.
i have heard that ASDA have decided to pull the shoppers services across the UK.
Can anyone confirm this?
Would be interesting to see if we can collectively pull a list together of them all.
Does anybody have some examples of diagrams that drivers and conductors have on ScotRail and cross border services??
Also interested to see if anyone has a preference of day or back shifts?
Would you tend to get an early finish on a back shift if an early ECS to depot whereas impossible for an...
Does anybody have some examples of shifts that are generally operated for both drivers and on board staff.
I would be interested to see and hear if people find it’s better shift duration and make up for evenings against daytime.
Also is there a chance of an early finish on a back shift against...
Seen on ScotRail twitter feed that they have an exciting announcement due with a picture of a wrapped smart card.
Anybody know whats on offer??
Be a bold move for a fare freeze on smart.
