I’m travelling back from Torquay to London on Sunday. I was due to travel back via GWR, but can’t now due to the overtime ban.
I have a super off peak return (Torquay - London Terminals) which says it’s valid via any permitted route. Can this be used via Exeter to get back on SWR...
Not just Northern… Thameslink, who weren’t too badly affected on Christmas Eve, have just announced that there will be many cancellations on NYE, warning that it could be hours between services in the afternoon and evening. They also won’t run services overnight like they usually do.
Looks like an incident at a level crossing on the ECML is causing major issues this evening:

I was only a kid when the Hatfield crash occurred and was not aware of the magnitude of it at the time.
However, I have always read and heard about there being hundreds of speed restrictions in the weeks after that severely hampered the network. I wondered if any posters had any memories of...

Quite a bit of work will take place over the next year or so including the construction of a brand new station building at the entrance to platform 4. As a regular user of the station I definitely welcome...

Doesn't sound like too serious an incident injuries wise, but still wish them all a speedy recovery.
Edit: My phone autocorrected the title from buffers! If a mod could change that it would be great!

Sounds like the council are hoping to get these projects started quickly and get the stations open before 2020.
Received quite a few messages this morning about an overrun in the West Hampstead area, blocking 2 of the 4 lines.
Having looked at RTT for this morning, it seems like there were massive delays because of this. Although everything seems to be getting a lot better now, anyone know what the...

Any one with more details? Must be quite an extensive fire.
Looks as if someone has been struck by a train at Stevenage, with VTEC already reporting delays of up to 120 minutes.
Thoughts will all those involved.

I know we've had a few Level Crossing threads recently, but this is footage of an incident which seems to have occurred recently, which shows a vehicle getting stuck inside the barriers. Luckily a member of staff was paying attention to the CCTV/video...
A video on twitter of the fire: https://twitter.com/eastmidsandy/status/712340448203898880
I believe the ECML is currently blocked because of the fire. Not an ideal time!

So, after GoVia had announced when they took over TL that St Albans would see a redevelopment, this looks to be the first solid public monetary commitment to the project.
Have no idea...
Big problems this evening across the ECML, images on twitter of a VTEC service with OHLE tangled in it's panto.
Ticket restrictions lifted by VTEC, and tickets valid today are also valid tomorrow.
