I am currently planning my standard Class ALR for the first week of January 2017. This is a basic outline of what I have planned so far. I am working around the Liverpool Loop Closure.

I plan on using an All Lines Rover in January, I plan to buy it from Liverpool Lime Street, will I be able to purchase it in advance in December from the travel centre and just say the dates I want, I've never purchased one before as it'll my last chance on my 16-25 railcard to purchase one...

I am wanting to travel Bromborough Rake to Southport via Chester on a Sunday, I am curious to know if a guard would question my intentions going via Chester. and yes I know there is a direct service to Southport from Chester in the current timetable.
