Thanks chaps. My wife is well on the road to a full recovery and returns to work in a couple of weeks. I'm taking early retirement for the simple reason that I'm burnt out; I plan to take the summer off then look for something completely different to what I've been doing for the last 32 years...

Greetings folks. I've been kept away from the forum for a few months due to various issues, but now I'm back. While I've been away I have managed to keep my railway scoreboard ticking over; holidays in Dorset and Shropshire got me a few units and a good number of shacks but most of my winners...

xotGD - It's a funny old game, isn't it? I'm just about the only crank in the country who's never had 37059, despite the fact it's worked numerous times over the last few years. Cowley - We were sat right at the back of a very wedged train, so I can't really comment on 41001, other than to say...

Thanks. I've had time this evening to knock out a proper write-up for my next move, so here goes. My wife is heavily involved with local politics. She also understands and appreciates the benefits of railway moves to my mental health. So when she had to attend a function in mid-May she...

Nothing wrong with an early morning blast of Joy Division. Wise Up Sucker is a great song and all. Oh. Trains you say? The report was most enjoyable and yes, D832 is a monster :)

Grand stuff. I must get back to Scotland soon, I'm missing it.

My first move in May was the KWVR gala. I decided to drive to Shipley and get the train in as parking in Keighley can be bothersome. There where a couple of things on my list, including the prototype HST power car, which I'd not managed to sample before now. My moves (with 45135 and our mate...

Some fine reading there. I very much enjoyed your Peterborough report. As for the East Lancs, I didn't make it this time but your superb footage of the 20s really make me wish I had!

Thanks chaps. I certainly feel very chuffed with the achievement :) Keith - Mrs 13 is a star, no doubt about it. Although I must say that for many of my moves I do try and be home by early evening so we can spend that time together. I have been so busy of late that trip reporting has had to...

I've noticed (and suffered) quite a few single 153s around Leeds recently. It's grim up North. Still, plenty of 91 moves to read about :)

Some great reads there. I particularly enjoyed reading your Anglia move. I did something similar a few weeks earlier than that but haven't got round to writing it up yet. Congratulations on clearing the 91s.

I agree with Kite, it's nice to know the 172/0s are out. I don't do open days as a rule, but it's still interesting to see what was on show. Interesting stuff.

Good to see you getting back into the game with gusto. I always enjoy reading about moves to Northern land and yours, as expected, didn't disappoint :)

Ouch, but at least you walked away. Anyway, I'm just catching up (as usual). The regular collection of diverse and interesting reports there - most enjoyable.

Thanks chaps. Anyway, I'm feeling rather jubilant this morning and I thought I'd post this out of sequence. There are other write-ups to come later but for now, there's this. I thought I would do this report slightly differently. Instead of going through the moves I will cover each loco...

I'm currently trying to work my way through a large backlog of reports. Your Newcastle trip in particular looks like it was very enjoyable. Due to being excessively lazy I only tend to record things I have for haulage/riding on. Wagons don't feature very much :)

Blimey, it's been ten weeks since I was last here! As might be supposed, I've been ridiculously busy of late. I've not forgotten the railway, though :) Keith - you must have finished now, I hope you enjoy a long and happy retirement. Anyway, on with the show. Luckily for me it’s not been all...

Wow, plenty of stuff to read here. I see you were in the Southeastern area on one of the days I was chasing their EMUs (the 8th of March). It doesn't look like we had any moves in common, though. I jealous of you getting 59201, one of three 59s, and the only 59/2, that I need. As usual, very...

Yes indeed. At one point I actually thought that it couldn't be a 90 for that very reason. I've nothing against a run on a 90 and that particular one was very impressive. The thing is that over the last few years I've invested a lot of time and money in an attempt to clear the 91s for a...

Thanks chaps. Tech - it's all about enjoyment and being wedged on a rush hour train is as far from my idea of enjoyment as possible whilst being on a train :) As for the three and a half year thing, that just alludes to the fact that I retire 183 weeks on Tuesday (not that I'm counting...
