Offering free samples of Suffolk cheese in supermarkets, maybe with Matt Hancock as her right hand man and official taster? :D

    Starbucks Filter Coffee

Around 30p per pod, a bit more for certain brands, often on 'special offer' so 25p or so: larger packs than the usual 10 pods can be quite a bit cheaper but the supermarkets seem strangely reluctant :) to stock them.

I think they're being very sensible in continuing Dartline as a stand-alone business: hopefully some of the managerial and admin staff will continue to work there, along with the drivers, engineering staff, etc

The US mid term elections 2022.

Everyone seems to be expecting Trump to announce tomorrow that he will be seeking the Republican nomination for the 2024 Presidential election: everybody bar one, and his name is Michael Cohen. For those unaware of his significance, he was one of Trump's attorneys both before and after the 2016...

    second hand bookshops

Don't know, but just went to their website and their 'out of print showcase' featuring about 700 of their 20 to 30 thousand volumes in stock (their words) was last updated April 2020, which doesn't inspire me to become a customer.

How very dare you?! The great man had already announced that if they 'won big' it'd be all down to his inspirational magnetism, but if they lost it'd have nothing to do with him. :D He has, by the way, only tomorrow nowto obey the summons to attend the Jan 6th hearings - he thought the midterm...

Wetherspoon's has announced that a number of their pubs will for the time being have to substitute other items for eggs on their breakfast menu because of shortages.

    Shortage Of Eggs

All commercial hens must now be housed indoors under the avian flu restrictions, although the term 'free range' may continue to be used, unlike in May when a previous ruling came in.

Could his personal history and antecedents perhaps impinge on their reaction?

Doubt it, no other countries have gone down that route, even the new South African one.

Heritage fleets: should bus companies keep them going?

    1) Old people are not reducing in number - for each one that dies, another one (or more) replaces them in statistical terms 2) It follows therefore that the variety of what might be termed 'old buses' increases too 3) You seem to be suggesting that the past, even the fairly recent past, has no...

    Shortage Of Eggs

I can appreciate that. I don't eat many fried eggs, both for health reasons and because I tend to break the yolks, which is annoying!

    Shortage Of Eggs

For soft boiled eggs you want the eggs as fresh as possible, not quite so important for hard boiled or poached eggs, and less important again for fried or scrambled eggs. My late wife also used to say the fresher the better for cakes, Yorkshire pud etc, but she had more exacting standards!

The US mid term elections 2022.

And GOP stands for Grand Old Party, founded in the mid 19th century by anti-slavery activists and which became the Republican Party. What a turnaround from the Democrats being the Southern state racists and the Republicans the progressives!! Nowadays, I'd say GOP stands more for 'God's Own...

    Cricket

I have a feeling Australia won't get the rights to host another one for an awfully long time. The weather conditions are obviously not their fault but the timing and choice of venues was. Melbourne and Sydney were always going to be the venues most likely to be impacted by the weather. Just hope...
