Having had a look at Team Pennine on BusTimes today... if BusTimes is to be believed (note large caveat, there may be other vehicles etc not shown) and this is not a complete trawl... Halifax 526 and 574 - only one bus out of three running Halifax 530 and 577 - only one bus out of two running...

Reminder to self… don’t rely on BusTimes without checking! My apologies

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

I've just overtaken 5 Yutongs heading north up the M1 in Leicestershire. They're on trade plates in McGills colours driving under their own power. Presumably an overnight charging has been arranged somewhere….!

Trivia: Furthest day return trip by bus from your home town

Thanks for posting this. It was of great interest. Your route was well chosen. My mistake on the 7 to Slough and I overlooked the Red Rose 100 which is the 'upstart' competing with Arriva but offers a faster and more frequent service on this corridor. Anything else planned?

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

Great report, thanks for sharing. Couldn't agree more, the Minehead to Lynmouth route is stunning. I haven't done with First but I did do it with Quantock in 2009 and 2012, also on an open top Scania. First time similar to your route except I was also able to include Ilfracombe as there was then...

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

It's clearly an error; the 74 and 76 are Go Cornwall services. There are bound to be a few wrinkles but it is still a very good map. Is it available online anywhere (apart from this photo, which is a good one)?

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

That looks at first sight to be a jolly good map. And up to date in that it includes the TFC changes that have gone ahead and not the ones that haven’t. Some very infrequent services in there though…. Good one.

First Hampshire & Dorset (Wessex, Dorset & South Somerset)

That was a fabulous and interesting report; thanks for sharing. It's great to have an up to date account of how First are working in the Weymouth area and it sounds much improved in many ways. I hope the ambitious extra services put on this summer have paid off. It sounds like there were quite a...

    Go Cornwall Bus

So from Fowey to St Austell there will be a First 24 at 35 minutes past each hour and a TfC 25 at 45 minutes past each hour.......

Trivia: Furthest day return trip by bus from your home town

You couldn't possibly expect to make a 2 minute connection between different termini in Newcastle! But from next week, with the reinstatement of the 'normal' X9 and X10 there is an X9 from Middlesbrough at 12.45, arrives Newcastle 14.10, so plausible. But I still wouldn't relay on these...

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

If the U2 is going to have a PVR of 4 (see On The Buses above) in due course then it is surely going to be more than hourly to Redruth only. Good to see the Atlantic and Lands End Coasters are basically running full service through to the end of October. The L1, L3 and L5 look like they...

    Bus Manufacturer News & Discussion

This is interesting news. So are Arriva and Stagecoach each going to have hydrogen fuelling facilities? Or is the city region going to have a dedicated facility? Given that the vehicles will no doubt be in a special livery will the two companies each have specific vehicles or will the region...

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

Arriva appear to be doing their worst again. The Gwynedd bus timetables website shows a new timetable for the 5 routes (Caernarfon-Bangor-Llandudno) from 5 September. The service is reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes throughout during the day. The fast buses called X5 between...

    Hulley's of Baslow (Defunct)

Annoyingly the new timetables are still not up on the Derbyshire website - which is normally pretty good. On Hulley's website they are only on their Facebook page and as a technophobe I can't do much with this except screw up my eyes and just see most of it. It appears that on summer Saturdays...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

And there is nothing here about dramatic cuts to services like the X9. As above the new timetables in 'forthcoming' do not include any of the Weston and Excel services - in fact they only show minor changes for one week only and none of the significant changes - so we are still somewhat in the...

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

I'm pleased it is picking up, I hope it continues at least into the autumn and spring even if it doesn't run through mid-winter. It's a great route!

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

I made it to the West Country for a trip including the Dartmoor Explorer from Moretonhampstead to Tavistock yesterday. I was quite encouraged that there were ten other passengers upstairs when I joined, a couple left en route while another joined at Princetown. Not all pass holders, one young...

Trivia: Furthest day return trip by bus from your home town

Indeed! Have done most of this route north of High Wycombe, in many different sections, all except the 125 between Chorley and Preston. Agree absolutely on Aylesbury bus station, a disgrace!

Trivia: Furthest day return trip by bus from your home town

Wow! Good ending point as there's a depot there and the last 40 from Preston to Lancaster extends there and is well after midnight. There's some good clues in there as to where he went, I reckon he would have done: N9 to Heathrow 8 to Slough X74 to High Wycombe 300 to Aylesbury 150 (or X60) to...

    Hulley's of Baslow (Defunct)

Very interesting. Shame nothing else is - but Traveline doesn't cover pure Derbyshire routes, we'll have to wait a little longer to see the revised X70 and 172. So it is two hourly throughout, 5 journeys north and 6 south. Sticks to main roads and non-stop from Macclesfield to Manchester...
