Thamelink only valid on Gatwick Express train from London Bridge to Hove?

I also look forward to the statements released after the court decision. Be interesting to see if any of them are bland. I always remember the time Nick Ferrari ripped up a statement on LBC because it was so bland. Probably a government one but I forget exactly what and from whome now. I could...

SWR to withdraw public access to Guildford Station Footbridge

Or South Western Railway could have coincided the pedestrian closure with the NR works, which I would have thought would have been easier to sort. There is a post on Facebook about this by one of the local councilors, Angela Goodwin. It includes a map of the official diversion...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

As I wss starting my journey short, I doubt the ticket would have worked the barriers. I could have asked to be let though and they may well have said yes, not noticing the precise restriction. This assumes they knew where Gomshall is. Thanks for the info. Whilst this may well be a training...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

I accept that but would Pricing Mangers not deal with ticketing system suppliers or is that another teams job within a train operating company?

What does "Not valid on trains timed to depart" actually mean?

I took it to kean they added the other two stations just to make it clear and generally didn't travel from stations during that time period when using a ticket with that restriction.

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

In this case, I certainly didn't want to be in a position where I couldn't show something to be what it is. With tickets I can usually find a route that would show up in the journey planner or I can find the restriction text publicly displayed on National Rail Enquiries. In this case I wasn't...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

I had to go through ticket barriers and would be joining a train with no guard so I decided I didn't wish to argue my right to join the train without paying the excess first. I had time to buy the excess. This would have been easier had I travelled from a different train station that wasn't...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

So does the GTR ticketing system not conform to this or is it so complicated the members of staff didn't know how to do it.l correctly? I was told when they just put in the outward portion the difference was coming up as the same. I had no way of arguing my case firther as I had nothing to...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

Do all ticketing systems adhere correctly to the Excess Procedures at a Ticket Office regulations?

What does "Not valid on trains timed to depart" actually mean?

For avoidance of doubt, my comment wasn't to do with people being able to drive to another station but thinking the whole service was cancelled, as this would be off topic. My point was how you know what time the train would have departed London Waterloo, if it had been cancelled at London...

Where does it state officially that a change of route excess for one portion of a return is just half the fare?

This may well have come up before but as I experienced it myself last night, I thought it deserved a post. On the Rail Fare guide under change of route excess, the following is explained...

What does "Not valid on trains timed to depart" actually mean?

If a train is part cancelled, on the National Rail Enquiries app it will just say cancelled against the stations cancelled with no departure time displayed.

    Can Revenue override a Guard

I have had a couple of instances where I wws allowed on other trains having missed my booked train. Being dyslexic I hadn't allowed enough time and in the first instance needed the loo prior to getting the train. I have health issues in that department too. In the second instance I left...

North Downs Full Line Closure 10th Feb to 18th Feb

On a related note. On Sunday 10 March there was engineering works meaning it was rail replacement buses between Guildford and Gatwick Airport. A stopping service was running hourly and a fast non-stop service every 2 hours. I don't remember reading any ticket acceptance with South Western...

Trains skipping stations when they are less than 5 minutes late

Do they have a leaf fall timetable or account for it all year round? I've never been stuck at Surbiton for an hour. Under such circumstances, I would expect them to allow you to travel via London Waterloo but if they keep running trains fast as the hour progresses, rather than deciding to do...

Trains skipping stations when they are less than 5 minutes late

Guildford to Waterloo via Epsom is 1 an hour most hours. On Sundays Guildford to Waterloo via Cobham is also 1 an hour all day. I'm sure there are other examples across the country.

    2024 Fare Revision

This past year I have not made enough under £13 journeys to justify a goldcard, were it not for me to have some SWT free weekend tickets left. Using one of those amd travelling all day will cover the difference. I guess if I lived in London or near the wider Goldcard area it would do. Every...

SWR to withdraw public access to Guildford Station Footbridge

I felt I don't see many fare dogers but tonight there was one person claiming they dropped their ticket and they would have to let them though. The person did. Behind them was someone talking to other staff saying they lost their card. I don't know what it was about so it may not be related to...
