TRIVIA - big town, little platforms

Typically just 5 car 800's on the Lincoln services now although a 9 car can pop up from time to time. Does a 9 car have to stop over the crossing when it arrives from London etc or does it pull down so only the middle/rear is on the platform?

    Timekeeping on the Ffestiniog

Nothing new. Had a day out using the Conwy Valley from Llandudno Jun to pick up the railway at Blaenau. The service was late both ways and on the return there was about 10 min connection with the Conwy Valley service and it was missed by around 5 mins. Fortunately the Ffestiniog put a taxi on...

    First Potteries Discussion

What was the 3 network reviews out of interest? I know one was the complete change to largely have what there is today. Just amazes me how much the potteries fleet has shrunk in the last 10 years but then with all these cuts am I surprised.

    Secret bus routes

EMR's rail replacement 1645 Derby-Stoke - it's a secret if it stops at the intermediate stations as some times it shows it does and other it is non-stop.

    Staffordshire Bus News

From what I can see the only evening service after around 2000 will be the 25 Monday to Saturday. The 7 seems to be cut to hourly Monday to Saturday as well from what I have seen so far.

    Pride buses in the UK

Would of thought Derby would have done as well seeing that all the other areas in the Midlands seems to have pride vehicles. First Wessex has a E400MMC as well which been to other depots at Portsmouth and Southampton as well.

Trivia: Which operator has taken on the most services forfeited by the big 3

Believe much of the Midland Classic/Diamond East Mids network around Burton is taken from former Arriva routes with Midland Classic taking on routes/revising routes which Arriva withdrew from before selling the Burton depot.

Severe thunderstorms to affect some services 12/06/2023

Since my last post we have had a storm with a large amount of rain (which it it still is). Seems that services are no longer running north of Derby due to a points failure with 1V66 getting to St Mary's (just north of Derby) and now reversed north and heading to Chesterfield.

Severe thunderstorms to affect some services 12/06/2023

Been keeping an eye on the forecast though the day and it keeps changing all the time. At the moment it is blue sky but there is some thunder a little way north I think but not getting much louder thankfully. We are just outside the amber zone and the maps would suggest we won't get anything...

TRIVIA: Longest dwell time in the middle of a continuous service

Part of me want's to say that was to detach a set to form another service at York in a former timetable. The Cross City diverts are normally around February/March time.
