    New Ticket Design Launched

Yep, on APTIS the convention was to leave the route field blank unless there was actually a route to display. It was only with the advent of New Generation systems that it became a mandatory field - i.e. if no route was specified, ANY PERMITTED would be shown. Interesting how on the...

    New Ticket Design Launched

Thanks Ian - I'll share this with my contact in the north who can go and get some samples for our collections. Thanks also to kwvr45 for the scan. I'll provide some feedback tomorrow, hopefully.

"My Avantix can't excess your ticket"

I've looked through my collection and all examples I have are standard two-coupon tickets (OUT/RTN), so I would guess they are issued through the standard menu.

    Flowery Field

I've seen a non-issue mockup on APTIS :) What about Three Oaks to Four Oaks - where you have to travel via Sevenoaks.... I have had "interesting" reactions to two ticket purchases that I can think of. At Coventry station during my University of Warwick days, I asked for a return to...

    Status Code GW15

So it does; good spot! Interesting that there is a whole array of them (including the 75% one - which would indeed be nice :D) I recall another TOC (probably Virgin) offering Corporate discounts in a number of %ages - status codes CORPA, CORPB etc. right up to about CORPJ were used for...

    Ticket machine placement

This is an interesting subject which affects quite a lot of stations (i.e. most places with two side platforms). TOCs seem to have different approaches. Down in my area, Southern basically did a two-stage rollout of TVMs (Shere FASTticket machines in their case). For simplicity I'll ignore...

    Status Code GW15

Interesting suggestions - thanks; looking back through my collection I've just discovered one from August 2012 as well, so that may rule out Alex17595's suggestion (which is a shame; it seemed very plausible!).

    Status Code GW15

Does anybody know what status code GW15 refers to on travel tickets? Seen on a number of Off Peak Returns from First Great Western stations to London Terminals issued circa June 2013. The discount on the full fare appears to be about 20%. A web search turned up nothing obvious. Cheers!

Splitting possibilities: Bromley South (or London Euston) to Manchester Piccadilly

Thanks for the info. Looks like a ticket straight through to Mcr will be best for ultimate flexibility.

The ticket stock used by Parkeon can be a bit troublesome. The same stock (RSP 9399) is used in Scheidt & Bachmann machines. Both can suffer from printing misalignment and imprecise cutting off of the little "lugs" that join them together (as you point out). Unlike the stock (RSP 9599) used...

    New Ticket Design Launched

Yes. They also did the SMART Terminal ticket office system (used by Southern, Virgin, FCC ex-Thameslink stations and, oddly, Southend Airport station).

Splitting possibilities: Bromley South (or London Euston) to Manchester Piccadilly

Hi all, On behalf of a friend, please could I ask about the best options for ticket splitting on an Off Peak Return journey from (ideally) Bromley South to Manchester Piccadilly? Here are the details: Date of travel is Thursday 24th April Needs to break journey on the way up at Crewe...

    New Ticket Design Launched

I agree with everything JakeF says there. The "familiar" layout of info on tickets has been with us for nearly 35 years (since the INTIS system was introduced - the temporary stopgap between the mechanical/electromechanical era and the computer era), and so this change needs to be communicated...

    Station association

The (newish) ticket office there is operated by the Chester-le-Track private company, who also operate the ticket office at Chester-le-Street.

    New Ticket Design Launched

Thanks to kwvr45 for posting the scans. Compared to the original mockups I saw some months ago, some improvements have been made ... but I'm not entirely convinced. I have an unusual position on this: I am a regular buyer of tickets, but also a collector. Having collected (and researched)...

    Inverness/Aberdeen-Glasgow Football specials.

The Scotrail webpage states "Tickets are available only from Caley Jags Together". If any forum member gets sight of/uses one of these tickets, I'd be grateful for any info about their appearance, printed details etc.
