Trivia: Largest settlement not served by any buses

Unfortunately, the school has closed. While you are in that area, I heard that Millom, which I remember being a town no longer has buses but does have a train. Any ideas? I thought there used to be a bus to nearby Haverigg Prison.

Shame about the X57. It was a brave experiment. I used it a lot to go walking and visiting family in Mottram from Sheffield. I wonder if Derbyshire could be persuaded to run a couple of buses to Glossop and back on summer weekends.

Trivia: Largest settlement not served by any buses

I am sure there has been a thread similar to this before, but despite various searches, I cannot find it. In the comedy novel Ancestral Vices by Tom Sharpe, the main character visited a settlement named Buscott, population 4500, which the locals named ironically ‘Bus Stop’ as it had no bus...

Trivia: Settlements where rail infrastructure is more well known than its namesake

I think if you asked anyone south of Nottingham what they associated Doncaster with, it would be the St Leger horse race, if anything. Edit: north of Nottingham it would be probably unjustified unpleasant things, but not the railway.
