Future of the Settle to Carlisle, Bentham and Ribble Valley lines

That is very sensible, and will be appreciated. It also means anyone risking the last train at Ribblehead can have more confidence in a late night train away from the pub.

I love that. A very convincing scene overall, although the actual railway gives me Woodhead vibes

    What's your latest acquisition?

Of course :D I’m sure they moved a few signal boxes around!

    What's your latest acquisition?

Thank you That goes without saying ;) Seriously though, the sound version is a very sensible purchase for performance reasons, as it includes a stay-alive, so well worth the extra cost when working on a layout with lots of points like mine. It’s lovely, but it’s not very Clayton West :D ;)

Thank you! It will be a couple of weeks before it makes it onto the layout, but I think you’ll like my plans for it :)

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

Very interesting! Still no upcoming loco roster beyond the 28th, I was hoping to visit on the 29th and again in early January but it does depend what’s working as to how I prioritise my time…

Porterbrook Class 150 gifted to Mid Hants Railway.

It’s the internal crampedness, terrible seating layout and non-existent legroom of the Northern examples that gets me. I like (and even enjoy) all the other Sprinter classes as they are very much the era of my youth. 170’s are nice units.

Porterbrook Class 150 gifted to Mid Hants Railway.

I’m not overly enamoured with the class, as I get subjected to the Northern ones fairly often. However, I must say that looks stunning. I doubt it will happen but I’d love a 90’s event, possibly with the 150, KWVR 144, Wensleydale 143, Wensleydale RES 47 etc…

    Platform Numbering Anomalies

Confusingly, Sheffield Platform 2C, is a separate platform to 2A and B. I’m not sure if there’s a historical reason?

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

…Speaking of loco’s, it would be nice if the early January roster were to be announced for planning purposes *cough* Green Dragon *cough* :)

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

I see the logic, but according to the KWVR website Big Jim is a relatively easy job, so why not prioritise it over something that requires a bigger amount of time and money? It can then earn money sooner and help fund the others?

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

Appreciated, but they could instead keep Big Jim and loan out one or even two smaller loco’s. It gives them more options :) 1766355706 Why’s that?

WCR/RTC Railtour locomotives, fleet updates and movements

I have to say, in their defence, it does seem to vary by loco type. Their Black Five’s usually go full pelt through Doncaster, as below, outdoing Sir Nigel Gresley (7:33 onwards). Fire risk has affected a lot of West Coast’s this year too, which may affect the perception. West Coast often seem...

December 2025 Timetable Change - Confirmed changes only

Yesterday morning the new Leeds-Sheffield service sailed through Sandal & Agbrigg with a light load. However, I’ve just seen one go through with a very healthy loading. Although a 4 carriage Sheffield-Leeds just went through and was fairly quiet. …Although that may be related to another 2-car...
