end of the 'Jolly Fisherman' EMR to Skegness; what alternative options could EMR put in place?

At least. A regular move for us was the Cambridge - Skegness through train, on a Sunday. Again, like the Saturday additionals has fell by the wayside. Partly due to the fragmented system. Equally, and now off-lease are the 156's sat festering at Ely. A victim of DfT politics.

end of the 'Jolly Fisherman' EMR to Skegness; what alternative options could EMR put in place?

I agree. However, those passengers from Grantham towards Skegness are being penalised by the TOC. It isn't an easy situation to resolve.

end of the 'Jolly Fisherman' EMR to Skegness; what alternative options could EMR put in place?

Even one of those additionals called at Grantham on its outward journey, but neither called on their return trip. EMR prefer to encourage people to use the supplementary buses. However, they extend the journey time. Remember a few years ago they replaced a timetabled service train with the...

Grantham Town 1 Bedworth United 6 In a game that was a 'dead rubber' for both sides, it proved a disappointing end to a depressing season for the Gingerbreads. Whilst we played some good football, it was a bit of men vs boys stuff at times. A big thank you to all the players and i wish you well...

What’s this train , just departed Tamworth

OP's question already answered. But, from experience, P-way Section Managers aren't always complimentary when the train passes through their area.

Controversial railway opinions (without a firm foundation in logic..)

I wouldn't count that as a controversial point. That should be the basis of a reliable and sustainable transport system.

Long Eaton 4 Grantham Town 0 Another defeat for the already relegated Gingerbreads. This gives them the sobering stat of not winning any away league games this season. The only away wins being at the start of the season, all in the FA Cup.

    More questions about lever frames

EMR mass cancellations on Liverpool-Norwich, 19/04/25

Don't hold yer breath there... Management have made decisions to allow route knowledge to lapse. For example, Lincoln traincrew no longer sign for the Skegness line. This precludes diversion of Lincoln - Nottingham services via Sleaford. So, these things aren't as cut and dried as some may think.
