Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

You would hope that some Labour politician might see a goal that be scored here but it seems that none of them are clued up enough. Is the managing director and other senior management on leave for some reason? You would expect him to be dealing with this head on and apologising to customers...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

It was definitely effected by an inspection on route though. Pretty long one at Norwich it seems but lost more time before its first stop. 06:33 Norwich to Cambridge due 07:53 will be terminated at Ely. It will no longer call at Cambridge North and Cambridge. It is being delayed between Norwich...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

6.33 Norwich to Cambridge just terminated at Ely due to inspection. Either a coincidence or checks being carried out more frequently.

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

You would never guess that they are getting worse press in Norfolk than Suffolk. Generally some of the lines in Norfolk have access to direct buses doing similar routes, there's going to be a lot of passengers from Ipswich traveling via Norwich I would think - I assume they are not...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

I've seen that, which appears to be a change of tack as on Saturday they were saying they expect things to run on Sunday and today they expect things to run on Monday, but now they're pushing the line about Network Rail. A post on another forum claims that there has been very clear instructions...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

The problem with the replacement buses is that they are just on loops between terminuses and can't keep to timetable of the trains so it's a bit of a lottery as to when one will arrive, or so I have been told.

Greater Anglia New Passenger Information Screens

Yep, it should be It's like at Ipswich you have three screens before the barriers now. First screen is divided into two and shows the next two trains Second screen is divided into two and shows the third and fourth trains Third screen is divided into the fifth trains and a list of the first...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

I am scheduled to make several trips on the local lines over the next couple of weeks with tickets already booked by the company so I'm a little concerned to say the least and some very long days could be ahead. As a company we've been really inconvenienced by this as we are are spread...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

There's been 755s that are getting held for periods at intermediate stations this evening and not just at terminuses. Are they now having to check the wheels during runs as well as before commencing or is this level crossing delays and other faults?

Virgintrains.co.uk website (in the post - InterCity West Coast franchise era)

Moderator note: Split from https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/avanti-website.196403/#post-4323483 What Virgin have done is quite bitter, normally when there is a franchise changeover the existing operator says so on their websites and directs passengers to the new operator, the Virgin trains...

Greater Anglia 2019 - What could possibly go wrong?

This post on another forum is interesting in relation to some of the above as is the Q&A page added today on the Greater Anglia site to see what apparently is going on and the official explanation in more detail. However you are right that there is no way that anything is going to be done at...

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

I think they should focus on dealing with the problems with the 755s before introducing 745s and withdrawing loco hauled sets, since some of the 755 problems may well be common to the 745s as well. Any introduction of 745s must be done without withdrawing any legacy stock until the new stock is...

Level crossing incident near Norwich new RAIB investigation

Are you seriously advocating a safety culture of trial and error? An error related to safety could be catastrophic and no rail operator would ever employ it because it is completely irresponsible. That's the most shocking post I've ever seen on here.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Isn't that why there's facilities like Wildenrath? Did Stadler use such a faculty for testing before delivery?
