Guiseley is situated in a hanging valley between Airedale and Wharfedale. A hanging valley is a tributary valley that is higher than the main valley. Another example in Great Britain is Glen Coe. It's a valley of glacial origins, that cuts though volcanic rocks in the Highlands of Scotland...

    GBR branded rolling stock

It could be suggested that many sticking plasters have been applied over the years. As GBR isn't yet properly up and running, I'm not expecting too many changes in a rush.

Ability to choose or change Seat Reservations

I tend to use LNER to obtain seat reservations. Once you've booked a seat you can change that seat, if you wish. It doesn't cost anything to do. LNER is my local long distance provider. However, for many trips i take my chance in the unreserved seats. For regional / other journeys using EMR...

    Reform UK discussion

Agreed. Sadly, there are so many that believe everything they see or read online, or in the media, that they vote for a 'business' - I don't consider them a proper political party.

Collision with tractor near Leominster (22/05/25)

Ah, a signalling system that does what it's supposed to do. However, speaking from experience, human interfaces with members of the public aren't always as safe. That's if the crossing user has spoken with the controlling signaller.

    Examples of unique level crossings?

Done like that due to space constraints. Prior to pedestrianisation, High Street LC in Lincoln had a similar set, but mounted horizontally. Now a normal layout. Discussion of pump-up crossings brings me to this one. Whitehall Road, Canterbury. I spotted from a train on the Canterbury East line...
