    Merseyrail and Giants event

Yeah sorry, fair point. No , I don't want a medal, ha ha, apologies for rambling. I think the massive changes were made to the timetable to try and make best use of what is available. If a regular service was provided it would have been absolute carnage. I remember the last Giants event when...

    Merseyrail and Giants event

I mean really, my travel plans have been messed up by Northerns strikes for the last few Saturdays. I'm sure we will survive.

    Merseyrail and Giants event

It is going to bring millions of pounds in to the city. Most employers will go easy on staff if they are late. If people can't get along as normal then tough. As I said above I will be working Christmas again. I will spend the day walking in to work and trying to sort out Britain's armed forces...

    Merseyrail and Giants event

I have to work Christmas day. Cry me a river.

    Merseyrail and Giants event

Blimey. It's an almost one off event. Anyone who expects to have a normal train service is insane. I plan to go no where that isn't very local that weekend. It doesn't interest me in the slightest but is good for the city.

Bus Reform in Liverpool City Region

I suspect this refers to the bus company.

    Hillsborough Disaster - Some Questions

It sounds like the block I have been in watching Liverpool play Man U. I think it is more to do with how they fitted the section in to the stadium than it being a pen in the old style. If you really had to get out you could. Anfield has a small block in the Kop end where you can't get to the...

    Hillsborough Disaster - Some Questions

How bizarre that the first and last game you watched was at Heysell and you decided to stick your oar in about Hillsborough.

    Hillsborough Disaster - Some Questions

So despite all the evidence you would still like to blame the fans for Hillsborough? I really would be interested to know. A mate of mine died there and several others are still severely traumatised by what they saw. But yeah, maybe The S*n was right.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

To be honest with you based on the people I know who voted leave a large number if not all still would. The ones I work have the recent opinion, and I quote, "we should look after own first", "the Germans don't like us and we don't like them" and even "it's the Pa*is isn't it". They have little...

Could Double Deck trains be viable in the UK?

Outside captive high speed lines (If they ever happen) I can't see the UK ever having extensive use of double deck trains for many generations.

Bus Reform in Liverpool City Region

I remember at the tail end of of my school days I could get home using Merseybus, Liverline, CMT, Amberline or Northwestern.

    Liverpool 507/8s

Yeah, unless something goes horrendously wrong everything on the Northern Line will run between Sandhills, Moorfields and Central. Everything on the Wirral Line will go around the loop. The journies might get a bit tedious but you would scratch loads of units.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Not sure it is that simple, if we want to change overflying rules (or are forced to) it would make any long haul flights going from the U K to anywhere apart from North America a pain. Also airlines from North America to Northern EU destinations would have to take a longer route.

NorthWestRover's trip reports: Will it be the same?

Good read that mate. I kind of lost interest in the late eighties/early nineties but have ventured out more frequently the last four years.

    Football

Nice one, was hoping to be there today, alas the tickets fell through. Arsenal away looks like being the next fingers crossed, been to Highbury but never to the Emirates.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Not quite the same though, that's the first class only flight that uses the old Concorde flight numbers isn't it? Your regular A-318 full of tourists in hard class couldn't do it.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

The A-321 Neo long range version can do Trans Atlantic (I'm guessing that one of the new Boeing 737 Max versions possibly can). The thing is I don't think Ryanair or Easyjet aren't buying them. The majority of long haul flights are already made on twin jets, albeit much larger aircraft like the...

    Aviation Discussion

Cheers mate. I also loved Buenos Aires, a really beautiful city. The place we stayed was proper low budget but really nice. I spent a good few hours one evening chatting to a chap from Texas who was amazing. Out and about in the city I met loads of locals who were brilliant, even Falklands war...
