Why are we not building new underground lines?

The question at the start isn't "why aren't we building more tube lines in London".

    Merseyrail and Giants event

I don't know what the answer is. Apparently it brought over a million people to the city centre, far more than would be normally expected which was good for the local economy. I managed to get to work on time when required on the Friday and Sunday as was my Brother despite having to cross the...

TPE Mark 5A coaching stock progress

Ha ha, no worries mate, reading back I replied to the wrong person perhaps, I assumed it was all related to the spot the difference, was calling myself a dope. Now I see it. Ha ha.

    Merseyrail and Giants event

I've been on loads and not been on loads more because they are statistically more likely to be cancelled making the following ones more crowded.

Tesco & M&S being pronounced "Tescos" and "Marks & Spencers"

Should of, could of etc. simply do not make sense although I understand what people mean easily enough. Hospickle, bockle, etc. just make people sound childish in my humble opinion. Phrasial verbs are an interesting part of the English language which some foreigners struggle with. I didn't know...

DB Cargo guilty of safety breach at Tyne Yard leading to life changing injuries for 13 year old

I imagine if DB were guilty it is because the site was not up to standard. The kid has paid a high price and it may not have happened if more people had done their job, I include the parents. With permission when I was young we used to crawl around the various depots in Liverpool, we knew what...

    Famous people on trains

I have been on many Merseyrail Wirral Line services with members of extreme metal bands Carcass and Cathedral.

Slight changes you would make to liveries to make them nicer

Looks like a Predator sequal filmed in Scotland.

    Platform Edge Sitting

I've seen film of someone being unexpectedly hit by a train. It was horrific. Warn kids when they are younger, show them that perhaps when they are sixteen.

NorthWestRover's trip reports: Will it be the same?

Hope you enjoy mate. Bit less variety out to Parkway since the last timetable change. 156's on the Airport run, 158's to Norwich, 350's to Birmingham and a mixed bag on the stoppers to Oxford Road. Probably see some of the new Northern CAF units parked up on your right from Edge Hill to Mossley...

    Merseyrail and Giants event

The Echo is bigging it up as would be expected. Didn't have any effect on the three Northern services I got between West Allerton and Lime Street this evening but I think I was lucky. My first service of the evening was LNWR from Parkway to Lime Street and was fine. Few people I work with had...

"Exploiting a loophole": what does this mean, and what are the implications

Not sure if they count as loopholes but when I used to regularly travel from Warrington Central to Liverpool South Parkway on a Monday morning it was cheaper to buy a single to Cressington. Also when I occasionally used to buy a return to get from West Allerton to Lime Street I would go to West...

I am intrigued as to how a reduction in EU immigration has already benefitted you?

Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

Do you reckon 18 year olds driving around in high end cars is sustainable?

Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

An annual is cheaper than twelve monthly Trios. My dad used to work work for Merseytravel ticketing department so you don't need to tell me about it. An annual travel loan works out cheaper than a monthly Trio and is easier to budget for as it comes straight out of your wage on payday.

Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

Who is buying all these new second hand Mercs and Audis. Unless there has been a massive surge in car ownership then stuff is also getting scrapped much quicker. That isn't good for the environment. If kids can afford luxury cars someone is losing out somewhere. It will all come crashing down...

Does it matter if bus services reduce car usage but not car ownership?

When I was going to school back in the 90's I used to get a lift off my mum occasionally, we would have to wait a couple of minutes at the junction of Allerton Road and Queens Drive (Liverpool's main ring road). Now the whole of Allerton Road is a car park. When I was at Uni one or two people...
