    Passenger Services over Unusual Lines

Hi all Mods feel free to move as necessary I’m sure I am not the only one who uses the Passenger Services over Unusual Lines (PSUL) document on the Branch Line Society. I have noticed it’s not been updated recently. Does anyone know why, and if not, could we continue this thread of rare...

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

Another variation of the design, this time at Manningtree

    RealTimeTrains website

Worth noting there is a RTT Mapper extension which can be added in to map the route the service is taking - whilst not directly run by RTT (therefore not perfect) it’s a brilliant addition.

West Midlands Trains "Destination Manchester" - will it happen?

LNR have a really good opportunity here (providing paths exist between New Street and International which I doubt they do) to extend to Birmingham International and spin it as an Airport-Airport service

    Newquay to Gatwick to end

A short-sighted decision has been made to cut the Newquay to London route from the 31st May. Cornwall Council have pulled the funding for it. A decision which I hope will be reversed. Link to Skybus website

    More tube advertising?

Is it just me who thinks this one has been extremely well executed - no name changing gimmicks and just fits in without compromising the names and ease of travel for passengers (also the map is a simple yet genius idea)

    Train vs Plane

I would much rather pay to fly Loganair between Exeter and Edinburgh with a guaranteed seat, free coffee and tunnocks wafer than travel (suffer?) Crosscountry

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

Noticed Peterborough had been done yesterday too (not sure how long it’s been done for)

    Best/Worst value Day Rangers

The best value of all has to be the FirstGroup rovers - £6 London to Scotland with Avanti. Fully aware these aren’t available to the general public though

Eastern Airways - Suspension of operations

Air Charter Scotland is a private operator so I can’t say I’m surprised (what I am surprised about is that the route went to them and not Loganair given ACS run no fare-paying services)

    Lumo To Blackpool?

Maybe it’s just a more convenient place than turning at Preston?

    London Buses Discussion

I have noticed that some of the new BD11s have limiters on them (there’s a sticker on the back saying they are limited to the local limit) and older buses are being retrofitted with it. Could this also be a cause of the issues?

    Future of the 350/2s

How dissimilar are 350 and 450 carriages, could they be reformed with 3/4 going to Scotrail as 3-car sets and the other going to SWR to extend some 450s?

    Future of the 350/2s

Could they find a use with Bee Network (or is that going to be run by Northern?)

    New ScotRail Train Announcements

Be nice to have consistency between stations and train (akin to Wales) however the train one is so robotic compared to the station one

Great British Railways livery: Alternative suggestions/variations

I like that however I think the yellow is a tad excessive. I would have kept the yellow as is currently on the stock and the excess as white. Other than that it’s really nice. Sometimes simple is just best

Great British Railways livery: Alternative suggestions/variations

Quick 5 minute photoshop and I can’t help (on the IETs anyway) that a black front works significantly better

Trivia: current obscure/unusual regular timetabled services

One for track bashers - from December the Fort William - Euston sleeper (in that direction only) uses the curve between Maryhill and Bishopbriggs avoiding Queen Street

    Lumo Stirling timetable

Looked at Stirling and they all seem to be Unadvertised passenger express??
