Lots in Oxfordshire.
Horspath has a population of 1,378 and has no service. Nor does Uffington, of White Horse Hill fame, as I recently discovered when trying to visit the horse. Ardley is another.
Of course, if you class Jericho as a separate place from Oxford, then its population has no bus...
The full journey I took was actually Plymouth to Oxford. This used a single ticket from Plymouth to Pinhoe, then the return leg of two other tickets (Pinhoe to Basingstoke and Basingstoke to Oxford). I changed at Exeter St David's, Basingstoke, and Reading.
I also apologise for the slightly...
Yes, the service from Exeter arrived at Basingstoke on time. All trains from Basingstoke to Reading were cancelled, meaning that SWR had to sort out taxis to take people to Reading. The fact SWR were involved here was the only reason I thought they might be who to claim from.
We arrived at...
I recently travelled from Oxford to Pinhoe in Devon, using an off peak day return to Basingstoke and then once there, buying a super off peak day return to Pinhoe. I then used buses to travel to Plymouth, where I ended up having to buy an off peak day single to Pinhoe (due to my bus ticket...
We carefully cross the road to the southbound stop, and board the 2312 First Halifax, Calder Valley & Huddersfield service 363 to Huddersfield Bus Station (Stand R), arriving there at 2348 on Saturday evening.
Confusingly, Arriva sometimes charge less for their day tickets than for a return - they even advertise a £6.80 (I think) return to Oxford at Aylesbury bus station when the Orbit costs £6.50! There's probably no way of knowing until you're on the bus, though.
It depends on when I leave Oxford (since it would be around 10 with a 16-25 railcard), if it is before 10 I would buy:
Oxford - Dorking Stations CDR (Reading Not London) @ £15.60
If it is after 10 I would instead buy Oxford - Reading CDR @ £6.45 and Reading - Dorking Stations (via Gomshall) CDR...
To clarify, I'm travelling south from Gatwick to Brighton, where there seem to be much more significant time differences (especially since I can easily change from the fast trains from Reading through Guidlford and Dorking).
I'm travelling from Oxford to Brighton via the North Downs Line next week using a combination of two off peak day returns (splitting at Dorking), and journey planners all recommend changing at Gatwick for the fastest journey. However, given how Gatwick Express services tend to be more expensive...
