Trebor 79 I agree and see exactly what you mean. I know I'm expecting too much, but humour me here! I reckon it's the Swiss connection. An hour after getting off 007, and reflection time.. I was thinking about the 'similar' trains I've spent years with in Switzerland and Germany. The same style...
Oh dear. On my first 745(007) and initial impression.. I don’t like it. Wobbling side to side with rumbling rails below the carriage. Every point or crossing creating quite a shake and din. All the problems mentioned elsewhere on this thread including breaking up Public address system, dopey...
Oh great! Will try to delay my exit from Norwich for half an hour tonight to get the 17.30 (if 007 is still up for it!) The '+1 stop' mentioned on the PIS is a bit dopey. Surely they could have displayed the calling stations better than that. Also I guess the data for 'seats available' is...
Excuse my poor knowledge but are the couplings of any likely Thunderbird locos compatible with the 745s? I know they were hauled to the UK so I guess so? I suppose they will be rescued in the same way as the 90's? And additionally i was wondering if the couplings on the 755's might make set join...
Good grief.. surely not precise Swiss made engineering.. more Swiss engineering outsourced to third party countries.
States 'Pathed as Electric locomotive, trailing load 350 tonnes' so does that suggest Class 90's for the Victoria sidings then? Would have thought that would make sense security...
Oh good news dk1.. thanks.. I thought after all the effort that went into the seat spec etc. Guess the photos must have been doctored in some way... on Richard C's retweet
Great to see the three car units out now, and some 755 activity around Ipswich too.
I hope the 745's have got a good rust guarantee from Stadler. Poor things just sitting there, lights on but no one at home.. and no where to go. Visions of Thomas the Tank .'There goes another Class 90 limping along, I wish I could limp along says Basil' Seriously though,I really hope it's...
Fess UP GA! It's not just here.

One of those rumors we all love/hate mentioned that Stadler had offered to fit a second diesel tank to the 755 but it was thought too expensive. If it was true, I wonder if doing a whole diesel working day is going to be that easy. On another note Crown Point has been looking a lot less clogged...
412 operating the first Bi-mode from Ipswich to Felixstowe at 06.04 this morning with just the odd complaint about seats being a bit hard. At least they got one I say.
Crown Point looking very interesting this morning with a 745 with quite a few yellow jackets with laptops sitting in the carriage behind the drivers cab, ready to go out on a test run. Also Victoria sidings points now connected to the mainline and well underway with track laying and OHLE.
Interestingly after the 17.00 and 17.03 departures to London yesterday I saw a 755/4 depart Norwich on test with London Liverpool Street on it's destination board. Guess its unlikely that it was making the journey but the timing was interesting? Got the pulse racing a bit too. Interesting...
Nothing surprising I suppose, more delays to introduction of 745s taking over Class 90 duties.. and also note your comment in the 745 thread dk1. 'Plans are afoot to extend leases on legacy stock and locos so something isn't right'. What a shame.. but then despite still hoping my commute home...
