Wasn't aware that was possible on any mobile, though not something I've ever looked into as it's not a feature I'm overly bothered about. How does it work? When you get an incoming call, do you get an option to redirect to voicemail and listen in as the person leaves the message?

I can think of one more advantage, though a niche one only a minority of people would be bothered about. You can screen calls by letting them go to answerphone and pick up if it's someone you want to speak to. With a mobile you have to wait for them to leave the full message then call them back.

I'm only a very occasional bus user now (as in a handful of times a year) but I've experienced that a few times the past 5-10 years and it was definitely a common occurence when I used to commute by bus in the late 90s/early 00s.

Not anymore but there used to be a single Avanti service per day which ran non-stop from New Street to Euston, dep 07:30 arr 08:43 IIRC, I used it a number of times. There was no equivalent return working. I think it was one of the services lost during COVID and never re-introduced.
