Surely the vast majority of people aren't going to those places though? Euston, in particular, it's heading South to head back North. The Angel area being closer to the Moorgate Line.
I'm not saying no-one does it of course, hence the percentage comment.
Even known I get your point and don't disagree, surely when the keys are easily available on the internet it's now an issue.
Hypothetically if they managed to do something which caused injury then I'm not sure it'll look particularly good in court if you knew people had keys to access a secure...
It might be just be me, but I'd argue the doors aren't secure. It's the equivalent of leaving your door key under the mat and then going mental when someone enters your house, objectively even worse since you can get them anywhere.
Kings Cross from a percentage perspective has to be low surely?
A fair chunk of people on the local lines have direct trains on Thameslink, and to Finsbury Park and Moorgate which are closer the main job hubs.
Intercity traffic is more likely to just go straight down into the tube and/or...
Interesting, mind must say there's so crafty wording there. If you quickly skimmed that you'd think every train was getting replaced but every route says very different. Is it once a day? Is it every service - who knows.
Imagine it'll be political aswell, it won't look good for the North East if all they get is, at best, cast-off 15 year old trains and everywhere else is getting shiny new trains. I'm sure the two Mayors in the area would have something to say about it aswell.
When even was the last new train up...
I'd assume Ashington to Newcastle will get them aswell. The faster acceleration on the ECML would be helpful, especially since they crawl onto it from Benton Junction. It's also the pet project lately and is desperate for extra capacity.
If you can get on LinkedIn and go looking through the 'management team'. It gets even worse. There's the same kids as general managers and all sorts. It's very dodgy.
Very unprofessional unit as an understatement.
I understand that you specifically asked for Underground routes but I'm going to assume that you might not know there's more to London's transport and there's also the DLR (Light Rail), Trams and also Thameslink and the Overground (Rail) which all mostly all overground and are urban in the city...
Not sure on that one mind. Obviously I don't have any data to back it up, either way, but a lower price with more people can be more than less people and higher prices.
When you've got 4 car trains, you can't fill them up with people from Newcastle to Bristol or other long journeys though hence...
Surely counting the number of people on board is completely pointless when a fair chunk of people are nowhere near the train in the first place, since they're overpriced to supress demand...
Yeah that's fair. I don't know whether any through trains are using P6/7 right now, but surely getting the Ashington trains back into P1 and either moving the layover for the Morpeth trains back to Morpeth or just block P6 completely with them.
If, some how, they get more trains it's surely...
Yeah, seems like on football days when they double them up they tended to use Platform 2/3 instead so assume something must be booked on 6.
Side note, noticed all the fares have decreased to £2.00 off peak and £2.40 peak time to/from Newcastle from all stations, assuming, due to the new POP...
Happy to be corrected, but I assume it's no go until May anyway unless they mess around swapping all the platforms in Newcastle every day?
Platform 5 is 2 car only, god knows who thought it was a good idea moving the Northumberland Line into there when they knew there was capacity issues.
Is there even much demand from Inverness to the central belt, bar Edinburgh / Glasgow? Surely the demand will be the opposite way with people going away for the weekend or what not.
From being up there in the past, a lot of the locals can't stand the city life and find it overwhelming being...
Possibly but it's a bloody expensive scheme for only 5 deaths a year, which seems quite low considering the length anyway?
The road counts along it are really low and absolutely no-where near dualling numbers but obviously target improvements etc no arguments.
Obviously if you had an unlimited...
Not sure the dualling will make that much difference. The road is dead most the year anyway, so anyone wanting to drive will likely be driving anyway.
It's one of the most pointless dualling schemes going but that's for another thread.
To be fair, as someone who has DB300's on their local route, I can't see any logical way how you can fall out of the window if you were seated and using the bus properly upstairs. There's just no logical reason to be standing near / leaning on the window.
Yeah it's just a bit of a mess. Then again Northern in the North East always feels like forgotten part of it.
It'd be nice to get a 'new' train up here and I'd stretch to say something 20 year old.
What was even the last new train, the Pacers in the 80's? I'm struggling to think of anything...
There's big problems in the North East aswell, especially with the Northumberland Line and 2 stations aren't open yet.
Not really frequency issues though, more trains just being too short. The Durham Coast Line is really struggling aswell, at times.
