Can anybody confirm the status of the remaining 90ish Streetdecks that were meant to come to Leeds? Have they been cancelled, delayed or are First Leeds ordering from ADL now?
Also I am pretty sure that the Leedscity Electric 5 route goes up Osmondthorpe lane, Hanover way, and Clarendon Road. These roads are relatively hilly.
Not to get too Speculative away from topic, but I wonder how it would work with Leeds platform 17 being too short??
Anyone know the exact length??
I've got 105m
That's barely enough for a 3 car 150 & 2 car (158, 170 or 195).
The Idea of bringing in class 379 & class 350/2 never dies. I know it's speculative but it's not going to happen. PLENTY of reasons which have already been mentioned.
• Leasing Costs
• Costs for Training
• Additional cost for maintaining a new fleet
• Them being 20m rather than 23m per carriage...
Correct me if I am wrong but Yorkshire Tiger has around 70ish buses. With there being 11 Optare tempos, some in Arriva livery (Excluded the driver training vehicles), I'm guessing those would be sent to Arriva Wakefield to join the existing fleet of tempos there.
Hulleys needs to inherit some decent buses or even coaches. Travelling from Sheffield to Manchester Airport on an Enviro 200 or Solo let alone their other fleet ain't attractive in comparison to train and the 350 national express bus (despite being more costly).
If true, then it makes sense.
Speculation!! {Northern are now aiming for fleet standardisation. This would mean the extra 9 323s would displace 9 3 car 331s which will displace the 333s for the same fate as the 332s, scrappage. This would mean that northern would buy fewer 331s to then displace...
Seeing the 769 Project, it clearly shows that re-engining an old unit is not worth while at all. The 769s were meant to be in service back in May 2018, but it took 2 and a half years for one to even be in service and northerns are still not in service.
The only significant work I can imagine is...
This would definitely be perfect for the Mk5a presuming the cab will be near the same as the 68s. When the TRU is completed, these would be useful if more of the planned 30 where ordered just like the extra 13 68s where ordered for TPE. (Nevertheless, this is fanasty :( ).

Not nice scenes up in Kirkstall, Leeds either
Could Class 331 (With batteries) be a potential too.
Definitely be made good use with the Windermere to Manchester Airport Route.
Honestly, I feel an order of CAF bi-modes is what is really needed
