It was originally Crag Hall in Middlesbrough but there was a few of us successful so I have been given a non advertised job at Norton West, happens to be one I had applied for quite a while ago! Very happy!

Finally got confirmation that my pre employment checks are done today! Was asked when I could start and basically asked for tomorrow just waiting for a confirmed signalling school date! Hoping for April 3rd as I know a few people on the forum are also starting this date!

As long as the job is there you can internally apply

It’s taken me a long time to get passed assessments, roughly three years now of applying for multiple jobs, sometimes the same ones as you’ve mentioned, they seem to come back up, I’ve eventially got in! It’s been a long and really tough journey! Don’t give up, your time will come!

How long after accepting the job and having your medical did it take to get your start date if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m still waiting for a start date, I’ve been advised that I’ll likely be starting in May but I’m hoping that I can squeeze into the April sessions. Still haven’t even had my pre-employment checks signed off yet, had my medical two and a half weeks ago! Trying to be patient and not bug HR myself...

Thought it would be best to create a new thread for people like myself to discuss the pre-employment stages. I’m in for a signalling role awaiting my medical results so I can get my dates for signalling school. Look forward to meeting people in the same boat as myself.
