Took this photo on a bridge between Dalmeny Station and Edinburgh airport. You can see either side of the track, the steel foundations ready for the OHLE masts to be fitted on-top of. I presume that’s the work that’s been carried out these past few weekends - including today.

I think it’s pretty dead in the water now. No news is bad news, in this case. And we’ve not heard any new updates from Network Rail Scotland this year.

Was leaving work earlier this evening. This is the current site of the supposed Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification HQ. All the portacabins and even the SPL signs have been removed. One thing is for sure, work on this project is moving painfully slowly. If at all…

Me either! They seem to be prioritising the Barrhead to Kilmarnock route but I wouldn’t be surprised if they just cancelled it altogether. They had their chance to do a huge amount of work during the festive period but that was put on hold and seven months later, we haven’t seen/heard anything...

Ah, possibly! That makes sense. It’s a shame this current project is taking so long though. I know you need line possession etc but it’s a relatively simple stretch of line with not too many obstacles in the way.
